Culture bashing?? I did not see a single post saying anything against the Mayans. The post took a humorous twist and that is all that happened. They were ahead of their time as far as reading the skies, etc. That to me, is more of a compliment to them than a bashing. When it gets to the point that we cannot even mention other races--I guess maybe it is time for a big change to happen.

I didn't want to say anything, but everybody's culture bashing made me step in and bring to your awareness that the Mayan's did not predict that the world would end on the 21st of December 2012.

The Mayans simply inscribed in stone the ending of a 26,000 astrological era. This winter solstice marks a 5,000 year alignment and a 26,000 year alignment. You can check this with modern science and learn more about the uniqueness of this event.

Arrogant scientists tried to decipher these markings and without fully understanding their culture, beliefs, and language told the world the Mayan's predicted that the world will end. An era will indeed end.

But there is one thing everyone can learn from this. If you live like the world is going to end this December, you will live a more fulfilling life and remember not to hurt the ones that love you. If the world does not end, it will be a better world for our children.

If there is any lil-bitty change in the way things are going at all. Most folks will think the world is ending. Mass Media Panic @ "Y2K". Yet here we are!:yes:! If anything, I would like to see a climate change.. Let some of that cold weather get down here to Texas so we would not have to ride around with an ice=pack under the frunk keeping the heat index nanny under control:roflblack:

... :shocked: But I was rooting for Global warming... Not having to shovel so much snow or buy so much oil last Winter was kind of nice! The riding season lasted pretty much throughout the entire snowmobile season...
Maybe we'll all just have to move to an intermeditate location that offers the best compromise. :thumbup:

Global warming does not seem to be working to good for you folks in the lower 48. Drought, fires, no winter snowfall, etc., etc., etc. If it keeps up, most of you will be moving up my way, where we still have four distinct seasons--allbeit, the fall and winter are just a tad on the long side now. I would get some property before the price goes up to much. Its currently only about 45K an acre. :roflblack::roflblack:
