• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Help ! the sun is out and I took a short test ride, came home and packed for the day. got on and turned the key and noting happens at all. No lights, no noise, no nothing. Battery has been on charge all winter, terminals are tight. Any Ideas??????

first thing I would do is remove the battery cables and clean the terminals. then spray some battery anti corrosion on them.

thanks

It is the original battery, it tested good, there is power to the leads (metered) and I rode it 10 miles just prior to this problem

:agree: Just don't leave the vehicle running, that you're jumping it from...
Let them sit for a couple of minutes, and then try to start it.
Good luck!

...And if nothing happens: it's definitely in the fuses...

Agree...

One more for hooking up to another power source. This will show if you have a good connection to the system and the battery is the issue...When you say connected to the charger, it that a maintainer or other charger trickle type..?? many will give you a good surface charge with maybe one good start and them nothing left. Let us know what you find as you trace on back in the system....

OK This is what I have

I checked all the fuses, good I took the visible terminals off cleaned with a tooth brush and electric clean. I hit the horn accidently and there was a very faint click. I hooked up my Shop jumper battery again and this time everything came to life. But still have no juice from the charged machines battery. So I'm off to figure out how to get at the battery &^*%%, it does not look simple

Thanks for all your help, this is a great forum!

BATTERY

You had enough power to fire it up once, and that was the end of it. new battery time don't get a cheap one replace your battery every two years maybe three even if you think it's good and you won't have this problem

battery swap is easy. remove the left side panel and the black plastic panel under left side of seat. all there is to it. and when you change it use the star washers on the bolts. I call them alligator washers.

It's bad. A battery can still have power but if its output drops under 10.5 volts it won't work in a Spyder.

If you cleaned the visible terminals & are now moaning about finding & getting battery out, you can't have cleaned & tightened the actual battery terminals

Check your charger also. I have no less than 10 chargers and maintainers operating all the time. One of the maintainers quit working but the lights were indicating it was working but actually was dead, putting out nothing and battery ran down. Also changing battery is simple, follow Bob Finless video and you will have no problem. Took me 30 minutes on a 2012 RTL. Replace with a Yuasa as others have indicated, it is what it comes with.
