• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2012 RT Leaking Battery

Hi all. I purchased a sealed battery from batteries plus to replace the original battery that was at least 5 years old and running at or below 12V in my 2012 RT SE5 However that battery started leaking the next day. They gave me a replacement Duracell Platinum and it seems to be working great. It cost less than the BRP battery. Has anyone used or has this battery in their spyder now. If so, is it a good battery to have in lieu of the OEM battery?

And for those who have never changed a battery on a 2012 and prior RT
Here is an overview of my battery removal (my first time doing it myself) Thanks again.

Stop talking about it! My bike will hear you and then I'll have to change the battery in mine, too! :yikes: :joke:

Replacing 2012 battery

What size battery did you buy?
Did you have a choice between
a gel or conventional acid battery?

Thanks,
Bill

I think I am on the verge of replacing mine as well. I was also looking at the Batteries + as a source for a replacement. They show 3 batteries as replacements for my 2011 but none of them are "Platinum".
