I just had my 2011 radio replaced under warranty due to high current draw. The am and fm was usless before but now it is every bit as good as the IPOD. The replace everything including the annenna, the trunk outlet and the connector to the Ipod.
I think I may have a problem though, my Ipod Touch was dead yesterday so the bike may not be charging it. I took it into the house and charged it up and hooked in up again. I am not sure if it charging when the bike is running or for that matter turning off with the radio but when I played the Ipod with the remote controls on the bike it works fine and, the screen goes black when the bike turns off. I wonder if they forgot to turn the Ipod before they started the bike, I am not sure but I think if you have it running before the bike starts it keeps awake after it is turned off as well. Any thoughts on this?
As I said, they did change the cord that goes between the Ipod and and the trunk plug with the style (no black box any more in the cord).
