• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

had spyder at dealer for new seat and update on thottle body (per lamont post), had taken trip from michigan to madisonville, ky about 500 miles no problems. started spyder after sitting over night, late afternoon started (next day) my 2011 spyder show check engine, did a little jerking motion and then shut down, did mode + set + turn signel canel button but no codes. let spyder sit for 15 minute no check engine. rode to murray, ky about 100 no problems on road. got to my family home spyder set for 2 hours started my spyder again check engine come on, then show active code P1614. turn off engine wait few minutes then restarted spyder no codes or problem with check engine. spyder seem to sound and run good. what could be the problem? any advice would be helpful as i am far from home and my home dealer. i am on my trip to spyderfest i really hope that is is not going to interupt my 1st spyderfest.

You're gonna need a new throttle body, I'm afraid. Get it fixed before your trip if you can. If it craps out completely along the way, you will be stranded.

This person is already far from home. I just hope Cowtown has a bunch of throttle bodies in stock for Spyderfest, it's certainly a good possiblity that they might need them.

P1614 Code

I just had the same code yesterday on my 2010 RT and it acted the same as yours went to the dealer after I seen in the Service book and told me that it needed the hook up to the dealer computer to correct the matter. Reset the Thottle Body idel and drove it home about 10 miles seems ok now but will drive the tail off of it on sunday.Raining here today. Hope things work out for the ride to Spyderfest?

Last year on our Maggie Valley/Blue Ridge paqrkway trip, my Spyder went into limp mode and tripped the code the first time on the road in Columbus, OH. I made it home OK, albeit with a few more incidents, and I made it a bit longer waiting for the throttle body...but I held my breath the entire time.

update to 2011 showing active code p1614

took spyder to dealer in paducah, ky the tech there verify i need new thottle body and several update the apparently my dealer in michigan didn't do when in shop last week when i had told them about the new update... so now i am far from home and concerned that i may have problems, but tech advice to me that i could ride spyder and that i would have to get spyder into my dealer in michigan when i return home from spyderfest. i am going to call my dealer on monday when they open and see what advice they give on what to do. i am hoping that i am not standed durning this time. as i am very far from home. i love my spyder and i even understand that there have been problems with the rt's, just hope in can really get all the minor things yet not so minor problems worked. i have 1450 miles on my baby and she has already had to have all the gauges replaced the seat replace twice and the dealer even broke the mirror when in for its 600 oil change. and this is my first trip of any distance so hope this is not the future of my spyder rides.

Call Cowtown and arrive to Spyderfest a few days early, so Len and his boys will fix it right. From What I hear they know there :cus:. Good luck to you.
