• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 RTS Question on Air Scoops

Ok I have the 2011 RT and I get "Heat" on my right ankle. I tried the guard that covers the hole but all that did was redirect the heat up and into "a very sensitive area" So it had to go ASAP. I would like to get the Air scoops they used to fix the heat issue on the 13's. My question is has anyone spent the money to have this done on the 11, did it work and is it something I can install myself ? We do not have a dealer close by :(

I believe that a dealer can get you a set of them; even though your bike isn't a 2013.
But they are an item that is best-installed by a dealer: it requires cutting some of the bodywork away...

Did you try removing the "pans", from underneath the engine?

Pans?

I know not of the pans you speak :) Guess I need to look into that. What are the pans "Covering" will removing the pans create another issue mechanically ?

If you search for a post by Doc Riverside, it is very informative, tells you exactly what needs to be done, gives you the part number for the vent kit from Can Am, and tells you how he does it. It is relatively easy, just a little time consuming. If you can't find the post, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you the information. I have a 2015 RT and we did it on mine, and so far I seem to have less heat in the front part of the seat and the little glove box area. We did it in my garage. Oh! I should have offered a bit more of an explanation. :opps:
There are two pieces of "bodywork", that actually run underneath the engine of the bike. If you raise the bike up, they can be pretty easily removed from your 2011...
It allows you to block off the radiator outlet, and it gives the hot air a place to escape.

Got cha

Thanks :)

There are two black plastic panels on the bottom of the RT on each side that are held on by 3 screws. It will cause no harm to the engine if removed. We have also had the scoops put on by the dealer, heat is diminished greatly.

Scoops were a relatively easy install. Best mod on my 2010! A must if you keep anything other than bacon in your glovebox in the summer. Yes, remove the underside plastic pans, also.
Take your time on the installation of the scoops. Measure twice, cut once! You will wonder how you did without!
