There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. 2011 RT

Hi, new old person here. I've been looking at a 2011 RT manual 5 speed it has 1400 miles on it. Someone traded it to a Harley dealer. They've had it all summer, they started out asking 15500, and asking 13500 for it now. It's basically new, and looks it. Is this a good price, I've been looking on Internet, and it's seems pretty good to me. I called the manufacturer with the serial number, and they said there's no recalls on it, it also has extended warranty left until July of next year. Is there anything I should be Leary about with a 2011, I can't figure why it got traded so quick with such low milage. Thanks for all the help. Sorry so long

:welcome: The 2011 RTs were still having throttle body issues... But they were far less common, than with the 2010s...
It sure sounds as if it's worth a close look! :2thumbs:

If you really want it walk in with a check made out to them for $12500. Tell them you'll take care of all the paperwork with the DMV which means paying the sales tax also. I'll bet they take it. If they don't that'll give you a good idea what their bottom line really is. Wait until Saturday about an hour before closing time. They'll be anxious to get out and a sure sale is awfully hard to pass up!

Can you get a test ride on it? :dontknow:
As a manual shift model; the fluids that are used in the clutching system need to be replaced more often, than most folks are willing to do it.
If the clutch feels "wonky"; it might just need the system flushed out, and some fresh juices poured in!

But it could be a sneaky price negotiation tool... :D

I have a 2011 RTS I bought June of 2013 with 450 miles on it. I paid 16,500 back then.
I would say 13,500 is about right but you might try for less.

Many 2010-11s had throttle body problems. BRP changed most out under warranty. My 2011 RT throttle body problem did not show up until 6,500 miles but ran like a hose after it was changed out. Good price however....offer lower and see how they react....they don't want it on their lot....the worse that can happen is they say NO, and give you a higher counter offer, but lower than present asking price. Good riding.

Had issues

I had a 2011 RT Limited that I loved. I did have a throttle body issue and when they changed it out it reset the mileage to 0. This could be why the machine has such low mileage. Just a thought. I only traded mine in because I bought a new 2014 last year.

Some people can resist that HD influence & may have a chrome lust problem, or just surrounded with peer pressure & had to get the HD. Price is within reason & not the too good to be true scare range. Sure the dealer wants off their floor before end of year inventory tax. So you have the advantage. Test drive & haggle. Get comfy in time for spyderfest '16.
Also take note of how far off the nearest spyder dealer is, May be another reason why wasnt traded there or bad history to learn about.

I have a 2011 RT-AC and it's run very well since I bought it new in early 2012. No throttle body problems with it at all. The price sounds good to me.

Check NADA for prices. It will soon be 5 years old. Some times real low mileage is not so good for a machine to be sitting for so long. Has the oil ever been changed? IMHO I think the price is a little high with no trade-in.

:welcome:

I bought my 2011 RTS from a Harley dealer. The guy who traded it in had it to try to entice his wife to ride with him. She still wouldn't go, so he went back to HD machines. I got a good deal on a low-mileage Spyder and loved it until I traded it in on a 2014.

I also had the throttle body worked on, so you might want to run the VIN by a Spyder dealer to see what work has been done on it so far.

Also check out this one for sale in WV: http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/showthread.php?87969-2011-Spyder-RTS-For-Sale
