• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 RT Weekend Project BajaRon Sway Bar and Bump Skid

I decided, that since I am replacing the tires and getting the laser alignment, I will punish myself some more, by trying to install a BajaRon Sway Bar and Bump Skid on my 2011 RT. She's still awaiting the rear tire install - the two fronts are done - see other thread - went with the Bridgestone fronts and Kumho rear. The BajaRon instructions were pretty clear. Finless Bob's video was helpful, but missed a couple of things for me. All in all, I wish I had been riding, but spending a day wrenching, and saving money on the installs was the incentive. I'm no pro, but I am proud of myself - if I do say so myself.spyder 1.jpgspyder 2.jpgspyder4.jpgspyder 5.jpgspyder 6.jpg

Looks good. It always feels good to complete a project.
Now its time to ride.

 Good job!! You will notice a big difference in body roll with that bar, and that skid plate, looks like you should have done that one a few miles ago!!:2thumbs:

Got her back from the shop. Kuhmo rear tire mounted and installed with Dynabeads. Laser alignment done. Brake failure problem fixed. She really rides nice now. Tomorrow is perfect riding weather. Anybody in CLT up for a ride? Think I’ll ride to Morrow Mountain.

Excellent work. And excellent choice of upgrades.
To be honest, in my view, these mods are so essential, I'm surprised that there is a Spyder vintage 2011 that didn't have them already.
You'll be very pleased that you made those mods. Very pleased.
Ride long and prosper.

F.Y.I. the dealer service dept. charged 1.5 hours each for the tire mount/balance, flush the brake fluid/fix the brake failure error, and the laser alignment... so $132 for each task. So $132 seems OK for me for the laser alignment, and $132 to mount the rear... total bill $463.84. I'd do it again... and if anybody wants to know - Iron Horse Motorcycle Monroe NC...
