There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2011 RT shocks question

I have the 2010's on my rs-s and it is set to #5 setting I am in the 200 with riding gear and started lower but really like the harder feel. I would start at #3 at least. I have not heard of too many people going less than this and if you are putting them on you might as well use the firmer setting. :coffee:

I'm off to the dealer now and the #3 it is.

Thanks for everyone's input.

I just installed 2010 RT shocks on mine and :agree: 1 of the best mods for the $$$

I have the RT shocks set on 3 ... I wanted to swap springs on the rear but no dice ... the RT rear shock is 1 inch longer and has no adjuster ...

I have the 2010 RTs on my bike...have it set to 4 though...feels really tight when going around sharp ramps on/off the highway...can really lean in and no rolling back and forth like with the stock shocks...

I've got the EVO sway bar and the 2011 RT shocks on my 2008 GS. The Spyder tech who installed them took it out for a test ryde. He had cranked up the settings on the shocks all the way to the stiffest setting. He RAVED about the handling.

I think the combo has completely transformed my Spyder in the best, bestest way possible!!! That horrid "roll" is gone!!! Before these mods, two up ryding got dicey sometimes. Handling was sluggish. Now, I hardly feel a difference with a passengery vs. ryding alone. Handling is fantastic!! The RT shocks and EVO sway bar are the best money a person could spend to upgrade their Spyder, IMO.

I think you will be very surprised and happy if you go ahead and get the RT shocks!!

:agree:100%

I haven't ridden two up yet; but, right now I feel every bump set a #3. I was going to drop to #2; but, I want to see what happens when I add about 105#:D.

How much do you weigh? I am just curious as to how far the extra 105# will put you over my weight, if it does at all, and what the results will be. I wouldn't mind feeling all the bumps, depending on how hard you are feeling them, as long as the body roll goes away.

The body roll has gone away. I have the Evo sway bar and 2011 RT shocks/springs (all the parts).

Having the 2011's is why you need to drop down one more notch. When two up I bet where you have it now will be close to perfect :2thumbs:

I don't know about #3 setting. The Tech guy at my dealer put my 2011 RT shocks all the way up. This is the only setting I have tried. Yes, by myself the ride is stiff. But, I kind of like it!! The Spyder still corners like it's glued to the road. Two up, it's perfect!!

I've been on vacation in Colorado for a week. Spyder was left home. We flew out. I can't wait to get on and go when we get back tomorrow!! These shock upgrades and the sway bar are fantastic improvements in the Spyder. I am really loving ryding now!!!!

I have the 2010 RT'S on my 08 GS, started with #5, went to #4, not quite as bumpy riding solo. I'm 185lbs. I also noticed the RT's say gas charged, where the GS's didn't. Well worth the money.

Thanks, I scanned the posts before asking, but obviously missed it. :D Siunds like the ticket to me.

I thought I'd have more info later. We we're supposed to go 3 up today; but, our plans changed since the gf is watching her sister's dog. It would have been less than 200 miles round trip; but, an enjoyable one to a boat ride.

I can't complain too much since we will be leaving for Costa Rica next Saturday and her sister will be watching our dog.
