• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2011 - RT -Passenger Hot Right Foot Fix

My "shotgun rider [passenger]" has been unhappy riding at 80 degree plus days for the last two years. Her complaint was always the same, her right ankle got real hot on the inside.

I had just recently purchased a roll of "exhaust wrapping materiel" and was waiting for a cooler day then 90 degrees in the garage to try wrapping the exhaust system pipe to see if that would help. [Lost my round tuit]

This past Saturday we were at the dealer we use and in a discussion with him about the 2013 Master Brake Cylinder Recall he got the idea of putting a small piece of that over the slot where the Right foot rests just to see if it would work or help. A visit to the shop turned up a 2 x 2 piece left over from a recall kit.

I brought it home and stared at it for fifteen minutes before coming up with an executable plan. I squared what I wanted for the bottom edge up with a scissors cut then stuck the aluminum tape to the slot on the outside. Then I pushed it tightly onto the surface of the mounting surface of the adjustable passenger foot peg assembly using a carpenter pencil as a squeegee leaving the edge overlap free. Then I used my favorite utility knife to patiently trim the excess off so that it was only sticking to the machined flat surface.

This morning we rode from Ormond Beach to Deland 20 miles, then to Orange City 5 miles in heavy traffic Stopped for fifteen minutes. Then retraced our route back to home. The trip over was in the rain at 65 MPH at 84 Degrees F. The trip back was a 65 MPH at 94 Degrees and 98% humidity in heavy traffic at times. She was happy her foot did NOT GET HOT but could hardly wait to get off and cool off.

Esthetically the chrome like finish of the tape almost blends in. However being so small you don't notice it unless your looking for it.

I added this reflective tape to the backside of the steel panel the driver foot peg is mounted to. I will have to some of the leftover to add near the back peg.

Thanks for the idea!
