There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 2010 rts speaker upgrades

Well I have my jbl 528's in the front installed. They are definitely a step up in construction. The magnet is at least 4 times as big. The sound is much different. Can't say totally till I get the 428's in the rear. One thing however. The initial test drive sounded really off and I too had concerns that pr spyder rt had. However, after taking the grills off I noticed I had the tweeters facing out towards the sides of the bike. I rotated them back to face the driver position and the sound stage was considerably better. Still lacks base but the fidelity is much better.

Just wondering for those who have these. What position do you have the tweeter switch on or off. Thanks

If you did testing of the 528's with the OEM rears ......you realize your mixing 2 OHM and 4 OHM speakers.....also mixing quality.......In the Orchestra which instrument will you hear most ( the one that is played badly )......same goes for speakers. bad sounding speakers will ALWAYS overshadow GREAT speakers, this is fact not my opinion.......Mike

One quick question. Does anyone know what kind of power the base unit puts out in watts per Chanel
Thanks

Good Luck finding that out.............but I will guess 16 to at most 18 watts, these are not high end units ( except maybe the control functions )...This IMHO is why the 2 OHM JBL's give such a big bang for the buck........Mike

Well all speakers are in and functioning well. The sound at first was so different than stock that it sounded harsh. But after playing with the setting and getting about 10 hours of music of all kinds pumped through them they are really starting to purr. I think they are a bit tight from factory. The base is really starting to loosen up. I had the same process with my 5000 dollar Definitive Technology bipolar home theatre mains. The sound stage just keeps getting better as they age. I know apples and oranges but do think they require ample break in time before they can be truly judged.

Thanks to all who helped me through this process

I regards to output from the built in amp, that may require a call to the manufacturer. I do not recall who it is, but did read it off the label. Believe they are made in the US.

The RT radio is made by RadioSound and is called NTouch.

But you are not going to get any info from them! They only give it to manufacturers :(

Want to add that we recently purchased an I Pod for the Spyder. Purchased a new generation I Pod Nano and the Apple adapter connecter that converts the new style small Apple plug to the Spyders old style Apple plug.

So far everything seems to work fine. However when trying to change albums, the Spyder seems to prefer and always comes back to Alan Jackson...

SO, we rode last night for a bit. Simply impressed by the entire audio package when using the I Pod to play the music. The music played during the ride had Kenny Chesney, Off Spring, Alan Jackson, a couple of 80's songs and maybe more.

Everything played with super clarity, volume was capable, and the wife commented several times on how she really thought the system was awesome.

Overall, I am considering removing the hidden antenna and reverting back to the original antenna setup. This will allow me to compare and verify if the hidden setup is picking up noise that carries into the speakers.

I Pods and JBLs so far for us are a very good setup.

Next will be to sort out an I Pod mount in the trunk.

Velcro works well.

Added an external amp and wow

Just added a alpine 45 x 4 inline amp to my 2ohm JBL Gto 528 & 428 and wow what a difference just made great greater now I'm gonna need better speakers I mean it sounds great at full volume but my amp gains are set to zero so thinking about getting better speakers

Hi, I'm the guy who discovered and pioneered the 2 ohm JBL revolution...... The folks here who tried them , have loved them..... I see you have 428 size in the rear ..... I switched mine out for JBL GTO 508c's ( 5.25" with a higher capability for Volume ).... and that made a hugh difference for the rear sound ..they have more Base than the 4" size ..... If you look for ( better ) speakers, If they are .. 4 ohm .. you may not see any improvement..... I know the rear hole can be enlarged to fit the 508c, but other 5.25 speakers may be too big ..... good luck .... Mike

Did you go 508c on all 4 spots or just rears also I saw them on ebay it looks like the tweeter is mounted separately is this so and if it is where did you mount it
