• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 RT-S 12,000 check

The first valve check is supposed to be at 6K, then every 12,000 thereafter. (No, I don't agree, but that's the maintenace schedule.) Looks like they let it slide on your 6K service. Both this and the fluid flushing procedures are labor intensive, so the service intervals that include them should cost considerably more than a simple oil change interval.
:agree:

I think some are missing this and not realizing the second valve check is at 18,000 miles.

Actually, you inspect them at 6K miles and adjust at 12K miles, then every 12K miles afterwards you adjust them. This info directly from BRP while in Daytona this year. If, by some strange chance they needed adjusted at your 6K service, then the next adjustment would be at 18K. Mine were fine at the 6K check.

Well, you never really would adjust your valves unless they are out of spec. It is always an inspection...followed by a valve adjustment, when and if necessary. What the folks at Daytona said makes no sense. If it was the marketing/demo folks, I would not hang my hat on it unless they could show a service bulletin to that effect.

Actually, they were just quoting the service manual, which states to inspect at 6k and adjust every 12k. I asked them since I knew it was coming up soon and wanted to know if it was at 12 or 18K. Got the same answer from my dealer here a few days ago. Also heard that they have not had to adjust any till high mileage. I cant remember the miles, but I believe it was Docs spyder.
