• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2010 rt flat back tire

Tiire

You can plug a tire if the hole is in the middle, but you are probably thinking of a cord plug that is inserted without taking the tire off, I would not recommend this method, the other method is to take the tire off, clean the area around the hole from the inside and then vucanize a umbrella type plug, this is really the only safe way to do it, you need to take the tire to a tire shop or your dealer.

You can change the tire yourself if you have a motorcycle jack. You have to jack it high enough that you can roll the tire under the mud flap that way you don't have to remove a bunch of tupperware. If you don't go with the OEM Kenda tire a good option is the Kumho Ecsta which is available at Discount Tire (usually they have to order it but they get them in a few days) price is around $80.00

IMO, if it's a newish tire, try to it patched and plugged from the inside. If it's older, or close to having to be replaced, use a cord plug and go on your way. I've never had a cord plug blow out on me, OTOH I've had friends who used the mushroom plugs have them pop out at highway speeds.

I'd plug it so that I could get it to where a permanent replacement could be accomplished.
Putting a patch on the inside is just about the same amount of effort that replacing the tire would be; don't get caught trying to save money on a safety item; that can get REALLY expensive! :yikes:

flat rear tire can I plug it very small hole in center of tire if I buy new where is the best place I live in maine

How many miles on the tire..? If its relatively new; 5 k or less put ride-on sealer in it, If its a small hole like you say don't use a plug, A Plug will enlarge the hole.. Just add ride-on, Then if there's a nail in the tire pull it out... I only use plugs when the sealer won't hold air...

There's lots of alternatives...
Toyo
Kumho
Falken
Michelin
The key is to get the correct size, and make sure that your dealer is willing to change it. (Some aren't willing to mount anything other than a Kendall)
