• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

i am having trouble with starting our 2010 rts when it is hot,,am now hearing there is a fix to this problem..is this true and is it covered under the service warranty???? the problem is not in starting but in keeping it running , it acts like it is flooded and will shut off..i have to throttle it for a few seconds and then it settles down.

Lamont is right, there is no cure for the 2010s. Here is the work-around to follow when this happens.

1. Try starting normally. If the Spyder cranks excessively...
2. Crack the throttle and try again. If the Spyder still doesn't start readily...
3. Hold the throttle wide open to initiate flooded start procedure. The Spyder will not start at WOT. Crank it through a few times to clear the cylinders, then try a normal start.
If the Spyder still fails to start try Step 2 again. I never had to go beyond this with my 2010.

The wifes 2010 RT-S had the same issue. They replaced everything on the bike for the fuel management system one piece at a time to see what the cure is. It finally turned out to be a malfunctioning DESS module. We needed to have the keys re-coded once the module was replaced and so far no more issues. Hope it helps.
