• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I bought a used one 3 years ago. it supposed to be a limited edition . does anyone know how many were made and what the cost of this bike was new.

I heard somewhere that only 500 were made and only In 2009

it had 3500 miles on it and now has 54000

noprobems so far

I have a '09 Phantom. They were only made one year. The Phantom was the forerunner to the RSS which came out the next year. Look close and you will see billet add-ons here and there that the other RS/RSSs don't have.

Don't know how many were made, but if you look on the VIN, it should start 2BXJALA159. The last three/ four numbers are the production number. Mine is 418. Know of only two other guys that ride them.

What they cost originally? Hard to answer. The Phantom originally came equipped with a frunk liner, sports rack with passenger backrest, this fancy plastic thing you put on the passenger pad that made it look like a one seater, and the billet. However, in my case, the dealer had added on extras, some I would pay for (like Dual Two Bros,) and others that were installed I refused to pay for. Lots of dickering because it was a demo and the salesman going to the manager sort of thing. What I paid, may not be the original sticker price. The dual Bros are worth it!

Have over 50k on mine too, and what I've put her through, she's bullet proof. :2thumbs:

my ser # is 115 I finally installed the plastic cover over the passenger seat this week. after 3 years

it was hard to get the little rubber balls to get into the holes of he seat. finally unhooked the seat to get it on.

I think I'm gonna keep this one

I plan to buy a14 sts se but its gonna be anoher year til this one is paid off

thanks for the info

Glad to hear you folks are enjoying the Phantoms.

Premier editions, collector versions, etc. have not seemed to take on any extra value. The line is not "rare" enough yet in many collectors eyes.

I am guessing that serial #1, 2008 GS that went to Jay Leno may have some collectability. Lucky guy--he got it because he is who he is.

Those who had Premier Editions on the 08 GS or Premier Editions of the 2010 RTS, did not get lucky. My 2010 Premier (#474) was a great bike, but I sure did not get to cash out when I traded it off.

So far, seems the same with Special Editions and limited one year colors.

Most items created to be collected and to gain in value, often fail to do so... The market will always decide, not the manufacturer....

:congrats: on PE #106. That is the lowest number I have seen on SL. I also waited for my 2008 GS (about 9 months). Did not get a PE--and took what came in (Half Moon Silver--SM5). Got the first one sold to a customer in Alaska. Dealer snarfed the other one for himself. :roflblack::roflblack:

I put my1000 down and was supposed to get a pe edition jacket. never got the jacket. stealer said I didn't order it in time.

what a rip off I would never buy from the Jacksonville fl dealer again.

the Daytona and Orlando dealers are better

You really should of gotten the jacket. My understanding was, anyone that ordered the PE, got the first edition jacket.
