• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My 2008 Spyder GS came with a hand brake.I would love to remove this. The dealer Sade this would be very expensive to do.Any help out their?

Depends..!

if you want to remove it to sell or use elsewhere it is involved. You can cap off the line and remove the master cylinder and keep the foot brake only. As long as the foot brake is there. But check around with other dealers as to price...

There is no connection of the hydraulics of the hand brake into the hydraulics of the Spyder's braking system.

It is easy to remove once you have the right side panels off. You will be able to see how it mechanically connects to the foot brake clevis pin.

I will bet your DEALER is " LAND AIR " better know as " THE DEALER/STEALER FROM HELL " and what you were told is pure BS .........Also IMHO I would leave it on .....it makes your Spyder MORE VALUEABLE , they cost approx. $1500 new...............Mike

Yes it is Land Air. You are also right about their price gouging. I know that the brake is expensive. The problem for me is that the span is way to wide for my hand. Also I want to put hand guards on and it is in the way. Any suggestions where to take my Can Am for service? Thanks Carmyn.

ISCI also makes a shorter version of the brake handle for us that have "smaller" hands. They are great people to work with!

The issue with LAND AIR is way beyond price gouging.......it's out and fraud , deliberately damaging your Spyder , lying , I'm making this up. And it's not hearsay, this is fact. It happened to me and it may very well happen to you. I now use Walt's in Derby, they are a long time BRP dealer ( family owned and operated ).........Rutland is closer to you. I have no experience with them. But have not heard anything BAD about them.......If you use LAND AIR ....I guarantee you will be sorry.............Just because you have the HANDBRAKE ....it doesn't mean you HAVE to use it ........and what type of handguard are you thinking about ?????............I have probably the most DIY mosds to my Spyder ( 45 ) than anyone here or anywhere.....so I could HELP you out with it.....Also My GF and I ride all the time and would love the have you along some time .......I live in Moretown VT. , that's in Sugarbush / Mad river Valley.....you can PM for more details ..........Mike
