• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

200 MPH

Questions

Was riding in this morning and found myself wondering why BRP would waste real estate with a 200MPH speedo. Been to half that, but wondering if anybody has come close to topping it out...

:agree:
But I like to think that it's done to "impress the ignorant"... nojoke
 200 mph??? Wow!!!
Just smile, and walk away...:D
(It actually works out to about A 125 MPH speedometer...)

Set Cruise to 130!

I program mine to kilometers just to see the analog move. Fun setting the cruise on 130!
:riding:

There you have it....

It seems strange but they do it so as not to have to make two sets of guages...MPH and KPH... and you can also change the F° and C°....

 My palms are sweating...

But THAT's why the Gauge goes to 200! :2thumbs:
Thanks for the video!

i would love to get on a no limit highway. i got my BMW up to 130 mph, but i was worried about state troopers

Your gauge has two functions. Miles per hour and Kilometers per hour. If you are in a "metric" country, you toggle it to KPH. Approx 62 MPH is = to 100 KPH. 200 KPH will net you about 120 MPH which is over the top actual speed of the :spyder2:.

When I was in Canada I drove 150 for a short time. Now, that was exhilarating. :roflblack::roflblack:

As mentioned above, it also works great for impressing people. When they ask how fast, just point to the 200 mph speedo. Or, when taking a passenger for a first ride--toggle the speedo and take them on a nice ride over 100. :yikes:

Almost

i set the land speed record for a spyder, don't know how fast, but i had to pee really bad at the time
I think I may have came close last night racing a really nasty Thunderstorm.... In Kilometres I was flying BUT .... I won't be approaching the 200 anytime soon

Those were the units on sale when BRP designed the Spyder ;)

Because the gauge was designed by a metric thinking company and the US Customary units (MPH) is a poorly executed afterthought. The correct design of a dual unit analog gauge is to have a dual scale ON the gauge and have the same relative position for both. This is the way EVERY automobile that has dual unit instrument clusters is designed.

What BRP has done makes the analog speedo next to useless when in the US Customary units mode.

The speedo, inaccurate clock and thermometer are among my admitedly minor pet peeves with the design. Its just that they have been WRONG since 2008 and BRP has no intention of fixing them.
