• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, next week I will take delivery of my 1st Spyder. My dive back into the bike world will be a 2011 metallic grey RS SE5 with touring windshield, 1" riser, comfort seat, fog lights and of course a backrest for the wife. I've been without a bike for about 20 years and really got the itch when a friend of mine got a yellow Spyder and it just plain looked cool. The best part is that there are HD's every place but even with mine there will only be 3 Spyders in town. To say I'm excited is a understatement. It's kind of like a kid on Christmas day. I went with the semi-auto trans so I could just sit back and enjoy and maybe even teach the wife to drive. I questioned my dealer about the trans and he assured me it's a tried and true system that they see little problems with. I did however find one forum with what seems to be a lot of people having problems with their semi-auto trans. Hopefully these are isolated problems. In any case I still just can't wait. Thanks for any advice.:ohyea::2excited:

:welcome: and :congrats: We're looking forward to seeing pics of your new Spyder and hearing all about your adventures.
The fun is just starting and your enthusiasm is contagious

Spyderlovers is a great place to check out what's going on and keep in touch with come great people.
There are those who just like to rant and rave, but the majority are fair minded folks who love the adventure.
And there are those with legitimate problems and complaints and it's a great place to post concerns
and get help from others based on their experience and expertise.

Welcome to the family..... don't be a stranger! :2thumbs:

Congrats, you will love it! I just bought a 2011 RS Pearl White SE5. It's my first bike and it's been awesome!

I started out with an 2009 RS SE5 and graduated to a 2011 RT SE5. I love both rides but would never have gotten back on a bike if it didn't have a semi-auto trans. I live it and have never had a problem. You'll love it.

Ride in comfort,

:welcome: and :congrats: on your new Spyder. There were some issues with the SE5 RT model early on, but there was a recall that fixed all of that. You shouldn't have any problems with the RS, as those appear to be pretty few and far between.
