• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1st 600 miles service

I paid $240 for the 3,000 mile initial service, and the dealer said “ unless you have a problem, come back in a year or when you reach 12,000 miles”.

Guys you know this thread is 2.5 years old?
Even though it’s 2 years plus, i figured the quesrion warranted an answer, after all, it is atill a common question/ concern for newbies. I don’t think he needs to be ignored.

The manual says the first service and oil change is 3,000 miles. Some dealers say they want to remove the metal filings with the oil change. Besides that, the dealers say they want to check the tightness of everything and torque whatever might need tightening. You would thing everything would be checked at delivery, but in case something is not right, they would correct it at the 600 mile service. I am sure some dealers just want to get another $250- $350 dollars. I think that if the dealer wants a 600 mile service, they do it for free to make sure their customers are safe and that everything is okay until 3,000. JMO
My 600 miles would come up in the next week or so, therefore I have to decide what I want to do.

I was just thinking that BRP is very conscious about what they will authorize under warranty repairs. It takes lots of time for authorization from BRP to Dealers. Since they are so concerned about warranties you would think they would tell you to get a 600 mile service so that they don't have to pay for a new engine or some other parts. They obviously don't think that is necessary.
