• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

195/50/15 on the front?

Anyone try 195/50/15 on the front of the F3S?

It’s only about half an inch higher and just over 1 inch wider.

There is a lot more tire choices at that.

And will it mess with any electronics??

I have searched for that size and found nothing.

Thanks

175/50r15

i'm running the HANKOOK VENTUS V4 ES 175/50R15 up front on my 2015 F3-S, and i have NO issues with rubbing or anything else...
the 175's allow for a gap of between 1/4" to 3/8" between the sidewall of the tire, and fenders & mounts...

How about this combo ?? Kumho Exsta AST 225/50/15 for rear and Vredestein Quatrac 5 175/55/15. I know the Kumho is tie of choice. But what about the Vredestein for the front?? Will the size fit/work??? What about tread pattern??

195 45R15

Friend has this size on front with no rubbing issues. I will be looking at this size next time I change front tires.

There is so much more to this question than will it upset the nanny. Sure, you may be able to CRAM that tire on the wheel and get it to air up.... BUT, just cuz it fits doesn't mean it will perform well. You will be contorting the sidewalls inward which then forces an outward bow of the tread area. This results in LESS contact patch consistently meeting the road surface. The sidewalls of a radial tire are designed to work in a rather narrow angle of operation (relative to vertical) due to where the bead plies end and the sidewall transition begins. This area is rather weak compared to the rest of the tire. Sidewalls are 2 ply vs 4 for the tread of the average tire and not as inherently strong.

It is the inverse of the folks that use tires that are WAAAAAAY too narrow for a wheel and stretch them out to fit for a "cool stretched look" (in their opinion), the stresses placed on the sidewalls are enormous and depending on how extreme it is taken, dangerous and deadly.... facepalm.gif

The Toyo T1-R in 195/45/15 is an interesting thought as it's one of the few sizes of T1-R available here in the UK.

I also remember the being described as very small for the size from when I had my EVO VII, so doesn't surprise me that they fit under the arches.

This is the size comparison to stock:

You guys have ALL of the T1R's in 225/50-15! :cus: ;)

LOL!! Yes I've seen we can get them for the rear. Unfortunately the Yoko S-Drive is not available here anymore as that would be my first choice for the rear. T1-R is my fall back position and my original Kenda is nearly done.
