• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1641.0 Miles without incident - 1 Glitch

Ok 1 glitch on the 2014 RTL in 1,641 miles last week. After stopping for a quick break at a rest area, as I was accelerating to get back on to the highway, The bike suddenly lost power around 5th gear and in the lower left of the dispaly where it shows the current Gear and E came on breifly with a comment about the Cruise control being on. This was just momentary, and the bike quickly regained power and shifted into 6th gear and continued on without a problem. This actually happened twice during the trip. I was pulling a trailer, but well within load limitations of the Spyder.

Anyone experienced this, and have any idea as to what may have happened?

We have heard that a "Quick Shift", will sometimes cause this to happen...
Nobody seems to know; it just happens... :dontknow:

May be a sensor who send a false signal after the rear wheel hit a bump when cruise control is on. Don't worry about that.

Shifting....

sometimes those ginger like touches on the paddle shifter confuses the computer. The gear positioning sensor thinks your not where you should be. Generally once you make a shift or ryde on they clear. When you have it serviced and if you have a great tech they will point out the stored codes . I do my own work and recently was at a dealer and he hooked me up and he showed me a couple of those. Mine being a manual I do remember missing a gear a couple of time and there they were...good to hear your trip went well and this is all that went on with your ryde...:clap:

I am guessing the quick shift scenario. The computer needs a second to process that you are shifting. Zip, zip, zip, zip, zip, zip may be a touch of overload on her.
