• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Is the 1330 motor and 6 speed only going to be in the RT models? So the sport models will still run the 998 and 5 speed?

Yeah..!!

for the time being. The RT's will test it and the rest of us will get it some time after...maybe or it will be an option..!! :dontknow:

That is correct for the moment. If it turns out to be a great powerplant, I see that being changed in future years.

Patience... it'll be worth the wait!
The new engine/cooling system combination will definitely require a major bodywork massage on the sportbikes... Give them time to get it right!

THE 998

Face facts BRP has quite a few 998 engines that have to go somewhere and when that supply is depleted the rest of the line will more than likely get a shot at the 1330..............IMHO......Mike :2excited:............Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut because the 998 is a great engine for what it is designed for I think they may just keep it going in possibly Entry level Spyders....also MHO....Mike :thumbup:

For some that like a more sporty, higher rev motor, I can see where they would might not want the 1330. If that is the case, then I could easily see where BRP would continue to offer the 900 series on the Spyder sport models.

Personally, I like mine. I ride a Harley Davidson Ultra about half the time, but the other half is on the Spyder. Two completely different machines and engines. As long as you run the 998 as it should be, then the thing is a monster.

I think for many, they are used to low-rev, low-torque engines and cannot get used to the higher-rev requirements of the 998.

Anyway... just my two-cents' of observation...
