• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

towers

i worked in the buildings for years doing electrical work, i remember the day they went down very well. i was home at the time the planes hit them. than i was going to go over to see mom and i stopped off to bring her some breakfast. it was on the tv in the store and the people were talking about the buildings and that they might fall. i said i worked in the buildings and with the steel in there, some of the up right beams were 4 foot square, that they would never come down. just as i said that building 1st came down. i was in shock.

a friend of mine named Larry, was working in the building with his partner at the time and they were working in the 13 Th floor machine room. he said he felt the building shake and the alarms went off. but he said the alarms did not blast long and that a announcement was made over the loud speaker system that all was ok and for everyone to return to their work space. he said to his partner lets get out of here till we see what's going on. turns out to be the best thing he ever did. he said when they walked down to the street there was debris everywhere and that when they walked a few blocks away they could see the damage that was done and than the saw the second plane hit., his decision to leave the floor he was working saved his and his partner's life.

Wish I could have gone too. It will be interesting to see how much of this story shows up in the "mainstream media." God Bless America!

This will remain in my memory until the day I die. I also have the same memories about the day that President Kennedy was assassinated. I will never forget either day.

I was at work, in the Wayne, MI, Ford Truck Plant when it happened, the guy that told me had a tale telling rep, so I didn't believe him tillI was able to check for myself. Won't forget that day.

I was working in Dallas and missed my flight home. I called the airlines to arrange a later flight and the lady that answered told me what had happened.

I Was a few blocks uptown, Helping daze people to get to the [On foot] GW bridge' So they could get to Jersey or '
If they needed to get to Queens/Brooklyn/LI., the 59Th street bridge...
It was surreal, Thousands dazed of people covered in gray dust headed North on foot to get out of Manhattan..
Some not knowing if it was WW3, Or the end of the world..

I had just gotten to work when the first plane hit and the news cut in to whatever show was on. I worked in a gun shop at the time, and about two hrs later people started showing up to buy guns and ammo. we sold out of 22 bullets by mid day.

I shared this on our Daily Adventures Thread, but thought it fit'n to also share here

Here's a link to our album with 29 pics in total of the World Peace Bell & 9/11 Memorial located in our neighboring city of Newport KY,
also right across the river from downtown Cincy.

One of Teddy's fans approached us as I was snap'n these pics & asked if I'd like for her to take our pic so I could actually be in the shot also, so here's the rare pic with both of us, tho you can barely see Teddy standing tall.

It was a very sobering day to say the least, but much of my sadness was relieved by the 4 different people throughout the day, that actually told us these words from their very mouths, all from just getting to see & spend a few brief moments with Teddy.

"You know what? Thank You, You Just Made My Day."

:clap:I don't think I'll EVER tire of hearing that

I just wish everyone in America felt the SAME WAY for our Service Men/Women & First Responders
who put their lives on the line EVERY SINGLE DAY so that WE ALL may live our lives as we see fit

I remember I was at work that day when we first heard it on the radio. We soon had 10 people standing around a 13" TV with more snow than actual video.

Watched a replay of a bunch of personal video clips from that day put together to cover almost every minute. Got so  I had to turn off the TV and go to bed an hour early. Still mad and in a bad mood today. Looking forward to some 3 wheel therapy Friday to improve my mood
