• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

12,000 mile service

I would be willing to bet that there has never been a single Spyder that needed a valve adjustment at 12,000 miles. So, there is no need for a valve inspection at 12,000 miles.

SO what do other bikes require? How does the Spyder service schedule compare to other bikes?:dontknow::chat:

Unfortunately, there are lots of opinions here and there is no hard and fast answer.

Obey the manual--do the adjustments--get out the checkbook

Consider that BRP may have been overzealous on the valve checks

Take into account how much you want to pay for service--prices which vary all over the chart

Take into account what others have found out and done. So far, I do not recall any repercussions from not doing it before 30K miles.

Time for a drink--:roflblack::roflblack:

So does the valve adjustment service start at 12K or 6K??
The factory spec on the valves is a valve check every 12,000 miles, with the first check at 6,000. There was talk of relaxing this to every 24,000 miles with the first check at 12,000, but I haven't heard of an official technical service bulletin on this change as yet.
