• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

100,000 Miles

CONGRATULATIONS. You are the inspiration we all look up to! A rough reckoning tells me I might catch up to you when I'm about 109. :roflblack:

This week I also hit a couple markers of my own:

1. 65,000 total miles experience (in 4 yrs 2 mos; 1300/mo avg).

2. NEW odo caught and surpassed OLD odo (in 20 months; OLD took 30 months).

CONGRATS !!!:yes::yes::yes::yes::yes:
hope to meet you at spyderfest and get squared away too.
keep on spydering! safely.
irv and joyce toms

Congrats Ann. I'm also hoping to see the 200,000 on the same Spyder and I'm also guessing it won't take another 3 yrs 5 months.

Gary

Congratulations, stories like this is what we all love to hear on spyderlovers. Also the report from Joe on the service and repairs required during
this time and never seen wheel bearings or A-Arm bushings etc. so hopefully they were original. Looking forward to see you both again at the homecoming. Take care and safe travels.
Roger & Linda

Any chance you can post all the routine maintenance and mechanical issues you dealt with as a heads up to us newbies. Congrats, I'm so jealous!

Yes!

Oops! That sunk your chances right there! Can you imagine BRP bragging, "Look how well our Spyder lasts when you use Amsoil in it!" :gaah:

Mac,
show me 3 others! See post 1. If it works, we use it. Full synthetic is the only way to go.
We replaced her rear wheel bearing, but it was fine. She has a spreadsheet on everything we've done. I'm convinced BRP should switch to AMSOIL. I've not seen another (in person) with 100k. We are 2000 miles from home, and we are confident it will get home, get to Spyderfest, and get to Canada, where it should be placed in a museum for people to see! Every dealer in the world needs a picture of it, so to answer the question "do they last?" Hmmmmmm, I believe so!!

According to his avatar photo and posting Buckeye Chuck 54 rolled over 100,000 not long ago. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/customavatars/avatar18892_1.gif

Would be good if he would post his experiences.

 Well I did it!! 100,000 miles on my 2014 RTS-SM6 in 3 years 5 weeks. Now I need to convince BRP that it needs to go in their museum.

Good job Ann! However, I certainly hope my Spyder will surpass 100,000 miles. Geez, my Goldwings were barely broke in at that mileage.

It was that move to Las Vegas and all that good riding weather you have. LOL Of course our winter up this way this year has been pretty mild. Congrats. I often wonder if I had kept my Spyder what that odometer would be reading today.

Of course, Honda has a 30 year head start on wings, and are a fantastic engineering company. They could make all kinds of bikes, but, choose not to:
like a 165 hp wing
like a 200 hp standard
like an adventure bike better than KTM
like a reverse trike......
i hope they do - I'll be in line with cash in hand!
Meanwhile, BRP is making the finest 3 wheel motorcycle in the world!

That's a good perspective, Joe. Thanks. Honda has a good line of bikes, but doesn't try to compete in every market.

Spyder dominates its niche - heck, it completely covers it!

Way to go Ann! Rack up the miles and adventures it will keep you both young. We're not worthy:bowdown:
