• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

“That two battalions of Marines be raised consisting of one colonel, two lieutenant colonels, two majors and officers as usual in other regiments, that they consist of an equal number of privates with other battalions; that particular care be taken that no person be appointed to office or enlisted into said battalions, but such as are good seamen, or so acquainted with maritime affairs as to be able to serve to advantage by sea."

(Resolution of the Continental Congress, 10 November 1775)

Happy Birthday, Devil Dogs!

Those were definitely simpler days. Where the enemy was clearly defined. And good men stood bravely and confidently against them.

We should never forget, especially today and tomorrow, that the young men and women who serve are a very small cohort of citizens who volunteer to serve our great country while almost everyone else gets a free ride.

While I chose another branch of service, I SALUTE Uncle Sams Misguided Children! :) Brothers and sisters, one and all! Happy Birthday!

Here's to the Jarheads, the Leathernecks, the seagoing bellhops - whatever you otherwise know them as - the Marines. Happy Anniversary form this ex swabby. Anchors Aweigh!

The scene of the youngest Marine escorting the 100 year old Marine was something to see. That boy will never forget that moment.

7% of our population has served. Ever! Happy Birthday, Marines!

Nice video. 3:34 Left foot first, please, Captain.

Perfectly acceptable. He is not marching in formation. Stepped off with right foot because it is facing center of the overall formation. All services in Washington do things a bit different from normal service manuals for drill and ceremonies.
