• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1" bar riser.... hmmmm

Is it me, or is the steering just a little more sensitive? On the way home, it felt different. Nothing wrong, just touchy:D ( is there some geometry involved here:dontknow:, lol )...

1 inch made no change

You can't tell the diff.with 1 inch risers...I added Heli Bar risers on top of the
1 in. and it now has the same seating steering position as the ST and close to the
RT.

Risers generally make steering easier, although the 1" usually has minimal effect. The reasons are arm position and having bent elbows. With your arm position raised you may have more muscular power available, and possibly better leverage. With the elbows being able to stay bent, you can both push and pull during turns, instead of just being able to pull when your outside arm goes straight. The power then comes from your arms, and not from shoulder movement.

THE RISER THING

This is a totally Mental thing. People do things to their rides because they are told it's going to make a DRAMATIC difference to it....So they think it does....However most things DON'T make a dramatic difference...They make some but not Dramatic.....I cut one inch off each end of the center Aluminum section to narrow the handelbars and give me more slack in the cables.......It didn't change the feel of the steering at all....In fact people have ridden my Spyder and because they didn't know about the change in width they couldn't tell even after it was pointed out to them..........and I don't think the one inch RISER is enough to do the job ..............JMHO...Mike

I put the 1" risers on my 2008 when I first got it. Did not notice any difference. Ended up installing a pair of dealer made 3" risers--and they worked fine. I really liked the improved sitting position for me.

I have longer arms, so it gave me just a little more bent elbow. Maybe I am just hyper-sensitive :yikes::)
