• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My odometer flipped over 40k (s)miles today!!

If all goes well, I will hit 50k by the time I hit my 1 year anniversary with the Spyder. (June 21)

Big thanks to all who participate on this board. There is a tremendous amount of knowledge to be shared here. With the exception of a few minor "bumps" in the road, the Spyder has gracefully pushed through and the reliability is just awe inspiring. I often feel like all I have to do, is just fill up the gas tank and go.

Considering this is the first model year and all the technology involved, its just awesome to see it all continue working with out failure. Few things warm my heart more than watching the eyes of children widen as they see me. Then the jaw drops and a hand comes up to either wave or point. In Manhattan you wont travel more than a block with out feeling like a celebrity. The Spyder has such a unique ability to bring smiles to peoples faces and sometimes its just enough to bring a little cheer in to life...
I kid you not, even the hardcore NYPD will wave and smile.

Here are a few quick facts that I have put together;

Coldest ride = 83 miles @ -6 degrees, plus windchill at highway speed.
Burrr!!! Even with full heated clothing and the BRP helmet, it was rough.

Hottest ride = 13 miles @ 102 degrees (NYC degrees)
bumper to bumper traffic for 45 minutes on the Westside HIghway. The asphalt was so hot that the tires were sticking to it.
When it broke free I was so dehydrated that I had to sit at a Starbucks for over an hour drinking water.

longest ride = 1,239 in 23hours, in January with temps of 6 - 20 degrees.

Deepest ride in water = about 75+ yards, with water past my ankles.
Deegan Expressway, NYC. Raging Summer rain that caused road flooding and I just pushed through!! At times the muffler was gurgling water.

Average miles per week = 1k

Average smiles per week = countless....

here's a photo of the NYPD Roadside Service.
When this guy asks you to move, there is no need to debate, you just go and go quick.

Great Job Nick

And we're hoping for 25K by end of first year! Good to hear a Spyder rider that rides and is happy with his Spyder. Ride safe, ride long. You will probably be the first 100K miler and that's awesome!

Fantastic!!! These are the kind of posts I read to my husband hoping to sway to the side of getting a Spyder.

Here's to many many more miles!!!

That is to cool.
You are definitely the mile leader.

In all those miles, how many valve checks and what were your results?
