09 rs leaking antifreeze from air box

Just started having this issue and finally had the time to take the sides off to see where the leak was coming from. I fired up the spyder took a few minutes and after warm up noticed a nice steady drip coming from the tubes out of the airbox. Have not take the airbox out yet as i wanted to check on here to see if someone else had this same issue. Not 100% but it looks like the coolant reservoir is leaking a little bit too very small drip on the bottom takes awhile to form. Any body else have this issue and care to give a hand with this before i dig in anymore.

Thank You

Never seen that. I'm going to guess that when running your sucking up the coolant from the leaky reservoir into the intake tube???

 How is the coolant system connected to the intake system? :dontknow:
This sounds as if there's more than just one thing going on here. :banghead:
Please let us know what you find; Good Luck!

......

Tim,
Last year I had gone to Lowe's, and when I returned to the Spyder, there was antifreeze on the ground.
Long story short, I changed out the coolant tank and all OK.

I'm guessing thatt's your issue, but that some fluid was sucked into the air intake....

That's a new one on me too. Check to make sure the coolant bottle cap is turned all the way to the second stop. Or Change your coolant bottle if it is actually defective.

Finally had time to get back out and work on the issue again. Took the cover off the air box and everything is dry inside so coolant isnt coming from inside there. Looked a little closer at the coolant reservoir and found a pin hole with coolant shooting into the tube of the air box... Crazy an how i didnt see that before...

Thanks for all those that had a say in what it could be. Hope to be back on the road again soon. Now to drop the almost $70 for a new tank. I did find a used one on ebay from a wrecked rt for $30. But i'm not sure i want to take that chance.

Good for you

Glad you could find the leak easily. 70 bucks does seem like a lot, considering how small they are, but I would buy the new one for sure.
