• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Only One More Chance to Ride Rolling Thunder

Sadly the annual Rolling Thunder ride in Washington DC is coming to an end. The attached image is confirmation I received via email this evening. I have ridden several times and it is an awesome ride around downtown DC and doing it with 700,000 other motorcycles is an overwhelming...

    Which senna is the go

I own 2 different sets of Sena head sets. The 20s and the integrated Sena helmets. I like them both, so I am not bashing Sena when I say the max volume from them leaves something to be desired. I also have a set of Cardo Scala G9s that I use. The Scala audio level and quality is far...

    Sturgis

Trip is confirmed! Well the trip to the Sturgis Rally is confirmed. Unlike some of you, we will not be riding the Spyder to get there. Being in the latter half of the 60's it would be a long ride. I could probably do it, but the wife could not. So we will be bringing the Spyder in our...

    Which Toy Hauler

We have a 36 ft Dutchmen Voltage 3200 that we got to haul the Spyder. It's the smallest of the Voltage models. It works well and we like it. I think your choice will be based on what you are looking for as part of the package, your cost range and the most important, towing limits. Do not...

17 Sept Northern Va Ride to Cooter's Place

I had this posted in the Virginia board and decided to repost it here for more to see. Are you up for an adventure? :trike: How about 150 miles of great riding that begins with food, has more food and ends with ice cream? If you haven’t already heard, Cooter’s Place in Sperryville Va...

Any one put ham radio on their spyders

With much difficulty. :roflblack: My first attempt was to open the switch and cut the small flexible circuit board and solder wires to the flexible end leading to the button. This worked for a while, but the switch was really delicate and soon came apart. Probably from the added wires...

Any one put ham radio on their spyders

I don't think HF on the Spyder is practical. There isn't enough metal to create an effective ground plane and it would be almost impossible to keep an antenna tuned. Also, the typical 100 mobile HF rig would draw more current that is safe on the Spyder. You could end up stuck somewhere with...

Are floorboards worth the extra $$?

Bob, I'm not sure who makes them. I ordered them with the boards from Diamond R. I don't know if they are still doing the boards, but if you give Allen a call, he may be able to pass on the info about the flip-up passenger highway pegs. And, yes, the Missus loves them. She's short and...

    Passenger armrests

Arm Rest are not a Safety Device. Don't count on armrest to provide any measure of safety. I've had Corbin and Ultimate (made by Rivco) armrests and both screw into plastic and have no firm support if you lean on them or push them down while getting on or off. I had the screws pull out of...

New all time high mileage on my 998 RT Limited

I normally get 25 to 28 mpg with my 2012 RT limited while riding around. Today we cruised down to and around Colonial Williamsburg and when I stopped to fill up I had 2 bars left on the fuel gauge. I had ridden 158 miles since filling. Normally I fill at about 125 miles to be safe. I used...

GUN CONTROL,,, lets see if we can discuss this w/o me pulling the post

"....... the right of the People to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." And if you find this is confusing, here is what it means : INFRINGE : act so as to limit or undermine (something); encroach on. "his legal rights were being infringed" synonyms: restrict...
