• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There is ONE good thing about living in California...

The switch is included in the kit from the manufacturer and has worked great on my husband's motorcycle for 65,000+ miles in all kinds of weather. He has installed this same switch on 8 bikes now and no one has had any fried switches. There is a 5A fuse on the power lead that is connected to...

There is ONE good thing about living in California...

okay...TWO things. SCUBA diving is incredible in CA, and YOU CAN RIDE ALL YEAR LONG! We just installed heated grips on my Spyder :yes:and my commute over the San Rafael bridge was comfy! Thanks to my hubby for all his hard work - getting it JUST PERFECT (he is a bit of a perfectionist). It took...

    Renting a Spyder

FWIW - My Experience Scheduling a "Test Ride" I drove all the way to the Elk Grove, CA dealership to do a test ride back in April 2012. I had already been there once before with my hubby and we looked at several used Spyders they had there, but neither one I was interested in was "ready" for...

    Lady Spyder Ryders Wearables

I did a focus group (for my scuba diving related business) and "Chick" is definitely preferred over "Girl". High heels are awesome...but not on a bike. I personally don't mind ride, but is seems like most like the ryde version. Great idea and good luck!

    Some HD riders are IDIOTS!!

:agree: I happen to love the hubby's HD Street Glide and I am saddened when I read negative comments regarding HD riders on here. I have responded privately when one posting offended me as a "partial" owner of a HD. Having said that...I went to the HD forum after reading the OP, and gave my 2...

MY FIRST 5K! and a heartfelt THANKS to a kind stranger...

Funny stuff... You could always put these "other" important dates written somewhere on your safety card on your spyder? Just a thought...

MY FIRST 5K! and a heartfelt THANKS to a kind stranger...

Thank you! We use Chatterbox for all of our gadgets. The Droid links via bluetooth to the Chaterbox, and then to the speakers in our helmets. We can answer calls, etc. It also has a 5 mile radius if you have another person using the same system.

MY FIRST 5K! and a heartfelt THANKS to a kind stranger...

I have had my Spyder just under 2 months and I hit my 5,000 mile mark this morning. I pulled over at 4,999 to get ready for a nice camera shot. My cell phone is having issues saving photos, so I brought my nice digital camera with me to take a photo. Safely pulled over, put on my hazard signals...

    Spyder Sightings

Northern CA Sighting I saw 2 Spyders on Hwy 160 2 weeks ago on our way to meetup for a large group ride. I pumped my fist high up in the air because this was the first time I actually saw a Spyder on the road while I was riding too! I don't remember the colors, I was too excited to see them...

    Help!

The dealer I bought my Spyder from told me what to do regarding shifting, and what works best for these machines. I would not have known about the RPM's needing to be so high either...It is too bad that you didn't get any advice up front :sour:

When ryding with non spyders... how do they treat you?

Taking it all in styde!!! There is a great group of riders in northern CA that we have been riding with for about 6 weeks, so as long as I have had my Spyder. We have already gone on several trips with them and I love the fact that there are bikes/trikes of all different flavors. I even got...

Re: LED Lights by Custom Dynamics

That is exactly what we did to mine, as well as adding a light in place of the rear reflector. I love the new lights! I am thinking about getting the light strings as well. I am glad someone was willing to post a photo, it really helps to visualize the effect.

    Petite Motorcycle Clothing ...

Do you mind my asking which one you purchased? Even better, do you have a photo of yourself in your jacket you would be willing to share? Or PM me? I am looking at one of the ventilated jackets and although I am not short, I am short-waisted. So, as long as the size charts are true to size...

She not He :) Love the look! Thank you - that was VERY helpful to see the photos! I couldn't tell on the website video/pictures what it would actually look like on my RS-S.

    Fuel mileage

Mine also seems to run smoother with 87 octane. At the dealership, they told me that the 87 was the best for my spyder. When I am with the hubby he fills his HD with premium, so we have put premium in a couple of times when riding together. I don't know if it is just in my mind or not, but I...

    Fuel mileage

I have the same Spyder as you - I purchased mine the beginning of May, and I have put about 3,000 miles on her! I think there is something wrong with 20-22 mpg, at least in my opinion. My first few tanks were running 28-30 mpg. I do use her daily for commuting in stop and go traffic and part...

Re: LED Lights by Custom Dynamics

Re: LED Lights by Custom Dynamics I have tried searching, so please don't kill me if this is a duplicate thread! There are few of us newbies that need upgraded brake lights, and I cannot find a thread that shows actual photos of these specific lights - Does anyone have photos they can share...
