• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Heat problem

I was getting so much heat on my legs that I had to wear soccer shun guards. Thanks to some suggestions on spyderlovers, I had the gaskets checked and two of them were leaking. (2011 RS-S). Now no heat.

    Isn't ironic...don't ya think?

When I was learning to ride (on a two wheeler) I got a lot of practice pulling off and on the road. Whenever traffic would come up behind me I would pull off and let them go by so I could toodle along at the speed I was comfortable doing.

    Helmets?????????

Statistics state that over 35% of damage to head area in a motorcycle accident is to the jaw area. It may not be much of a face but it's the only one I have so always full face (modular so can flip up when stopped if warm). My friends that wear the shorties say that wind from passing traffic...

    Handlebar Risers

When I added the risers I found that my hands were in the middle of the mirrors so I added the mirror extensions and life is good again.

Rode Tail of the Dragon Thursday

While I think that riding anywhere on my Spyder is great, I must be honest and say that there is a far greater feeling of accomplishment doing The Dragon on 2 wheels that on three. On three it's a lot of work and, if you try to power out of a turn in 1st gear rather than moving smoothly...

**** "DO'S & DO NOTS" for NEW SPYDER OWNERS... ****

(RS-S Rider) Although on a Spyder you don't have to adhere to the two-wheeler rule of not braking in the curve, if you are making a left turn at a good speed, you should do so. All your weight is on your right foot and it is difficult to lift it to put it on the brake if you decide midway that...

    Hot leg, not hot foot

Dick's Sporting Goods sells them singly so if only your right leg gets hot, you don't have to buy two.

Riding alone in remote areas - essentials?

Something for bee/hornet/yellow jackets stings as they tend to fly under your sunglasses or in your clothes. Sure is handy to be able to treat right then rather than suffer. Benedryl stick works well.

    New Guy Questions!

I was scared sh&%less to ride my two wheeler in the rain at any speed. First time it rained on me on the Spyder I cruised along at 65 without a care in the world and my only concern when it rains now is how fast can I get my rain gear on,

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Dallas Her name is Dallas from the J D Robb books. My first bike was Eve, if you follow the series. One post above said that they named it because of house it sounded inside the house. I love my Spyder, but she stays in the garage.

Is there a special wave for Can-Am riders??

Spyders Get three Fingers I, too, wave at all bikes and emergency responders. For Spyders, they get a high, three fingers. I concur that when out riding alone on the Spyder, you don't get as many waves as on two wheels. For those that don't wave with, their nose up in the air, that's their...

Shin guards If it's your shins rather than your feet like my problem was, I bought soccer shin guards and they work beautifully. I didn't want to wrap the pipe as I will want the warmth in the winter.
