• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What was your OTD cost for a 2021 RTL?

There is a 2,000 dollar rebate on certain remaining 2020 models at this time. Doc fees, freight add on and any other adds other than taxes are fluff for the dealers. (I work at a dealer). Also be prepared to get your service done at the dealer of purchase, many times people will go 200 miles or...

Got to see my first 2020 RT this weekend

I have a 2016 RT special edition, my 3rd Spyder RT. Before I got this one We drove an F3. Wife said the seat was terrible and I agree. The F3 passenger seat sets much higher and is humped in the middle. No comparison to the RT. I do not know how the 2020 RT compares but the F3 was a no go for her.

    First freeway drive

Greg, I am on my third Spyder, my first one was a 2010 Rts. Had a 2014 and now a 2016 special edition. I seemed to always just rest my left hand on the grip like you do. Most new riders really just overdrive the Spyders. Kind of like riding a two wheeler on grooved pavement and trying to react...

    Belt tensioner

I have ridden RT,s for going on 10 years, started with a 2010 998 then 2014 and presently a 2016 Special Edition triple black. I’ve run Lamonster’s idler pulley on the latest RT and it does smooth out the vibration. I recommend it. Good bang for the buck.

    Belt tensioner

At certain speeds the belt causes vibration, usually around 65 - 75 mph. It is not a bother to some folks but adding the idler roller will elimate It. It doesn’t come from the factory with one.

Repalce headlights with LED 2010 RT?

It can be tricky getting the wiring tucked in under the cover. You have to have room for the solenoid plunger To move the flapper or it won’t allow the high beam to work. One of mine worked and the other one was not . Had to retuck the wiring to free it up. Now I have both high beams working...

    Sway bar/ shocks

I agree. It is all about riding style. I’ve owned a 2010, 2014 and now a 2016 RT, never felt the need to change anything on them.

    OK... I'm In. 2016 RTS SE6 w/2,500 miles

Nothing against trikes in general, I’ve never owned one but I did test drive a wing trike. Not good for me, the front pushed and didn’t steer well. My wife said it rode hard as a rock. Let,s face it,,,the spider is designed from the ground up to be what it is. It is not a “kit”. Phycis is...

    OK... I'm In. 2016 RTS SE6 w/2,500 miles

New to the ride . I have 10 years Spyder riding experience and over 50 years on various 2wheelers. I still own a half dozen bikes and on my third spyder. The spyder is my “go to” ride. Do not worry about letting up on the throttle. Simply not necessary. Driving your car you don’t let up on the...

Anybody have to repair a flat tire on the road?

I always carry a plug kit on my bikes including the spider. I have plugged tires for my friends on trips. No big deal. Anyone can do it. Plug kit and small compressor and your back on the road.

Which to get F3 Limited or RT

I have owned 3 RTs . Have been cross country and many long trips. My wife loves the RT . Before we got our current One I tried out an f3 (kept it over night and rode it quite a few miles with the wife). The passenger seating was very bad compared to the RT. For me the wind was terrible with a...

    A Question for Pillion Passengers

RT back seat wins hands down I am on my 3 rd RT. Before I got the last one, a '16 Special edition, My wife and I tried out an F3 limited. No way for her on the F3. Period. If I was riding solo I may be ok with the F3 but it is just not a long distance 2 up machine. When I scooted back to...

New guy looking at an RT with very low miles

enjoy I put 25,000 on my first spyder. A 2010 RTS . The V twin runs great, keep the rpm's in the right the right range and it's plenty fast. Rear factory tires ware fast due to the rubber compound being soft. 8,000 miles or so life is normal. Don't worry about adding aftermarket items till...
