• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Milage

    I have 69,956 miles on 2010 RT. Would be more but i lost little over a year due to illness. All is good now. I have had a ball every mile of the way, love the old Spyder.

    Elka shocks

    I have over 40,000 miles on mine and no leaks or problems. John looked at them during the last Spyderfest and suggested not doing anything yet. The annual rebuilding is aimed at off road tag racing, which I think has been their primary market.

    New to me 2010 RTS

    congratulations I also have a 2010 RT, and love it. I have had 67,500 happy trouble free miles. This engine loves to rev learn to keep the rpms up, I run between 4500 and 6000 and don't shift until 6000. Steering is very quick and take some time to get used to. Ride and stay safe!

    I have had mine chcked last at 48,000 miles no adjustment needed thus far. I now have 67,000 and may have them checked this summer. For all I have spent on checking a valve job may have been cheaper.

    Reliability

    Yes my Spyder seems to require lots of maintenance but I have driven lots of miles and it has never broken down. Plus I have had lots of fun, met great people and seen some new places. Ride, be safe and have fun; if the Spyder causes you more worry and than fun sell it and move on.;)

    On my 2010 rt I ran power leads to the battery, the controller is under the sear, the actual control knob and light is in the horizontal black panel to the left of the handle bars. The Jack is in the left Tupperware hooked by Jack to the system, this lets me take the Tupperware off easily...

    IPhone I am using my IPhone 6 with an adapter on my 2010 rt without issue. Make certain that the adapter is plugged all the way into the phone, mine is stiff. if it is not fully seated it will not work.

    adding oil between oil changes

    I have a little over 58,000 miles on my RT as it has gotten more mileage it uses less oil between oil changes. When it was new I added oil every 700 miles, during the last trip it was 2,000 miles before I added any, I am using BRP oil and have had no problems yet.
