• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

That's what I was thinking too.

I "looked" at using that method but was concerned about inadvertently tweaking the arm and rod alignment the bearings were mounted on. I had the proper pullers so just used them.

    Ryker turning left Issues

I hadn't seen that publication before and just followed the lengthy PITA one because I didn't figure the arm would be able to clear all the other stuff so it could be removed. Just removing the lower steering link nut was a bear to get adequate access so it could be loosened (it's tight) and...

@WhiteCat, the bearings are a slip fit in the bore of the aluminum Pitman arm support. However, they are pressed onto the shaft on the Pitman arm, and the same shaft that the SAS sleeve is mounted in. The hard part is getting those bearings off the shaft without causing any damage to the end of...

@WhiteCat, If I'm correct, it's not called the YAW, but longitude or something like that. IIRC, it's directly under the SAS setting adjustment.

    Ryker turning left Issues

Zeroed the SAS and yaw reading and took it out for an aggressive spin on a nearby twisty road, same road I ran before installing the upgrade kit. No weird LH handling issues like before, so hopefully it's fixed. The LH signal also cancelled promptly when straightening the steering back out, even...

    Ryker turning left Issues

No, it appears to be weeping around the seam and has left a crusty orange residue. I'll clean it off and see what it does after I get some heat and real pressure to it. Centered up the steering and locked it down last night. Will stick BUDS on it later this morning and zero it out.

    Ryker turning left Issues

Getting the BUDS2 software up and running took a little longer than I anticipated. Before I bit the bullet in purchasing the system, I made sure that it would run on a Win7 XP machine since my unused, near pristine Dell Inspiron 1525 in the garage runs on that. Well, that didn’t turn out to be...

    Ryker turning left Issues

I FINALLY got my ’22 Sport pieced back together after installing the steering update kit. I’ve worked on some pretty intricate and complicated equipment over the years in my varied careers, but this one took the prize for being the most frustrating. I wound up with two leftover black 6mm bolts...

Need to know how to use the 529036476 Spacer to set my Ryker's SAS to zero?

The comment "in this application" implied that it obviously has some other use in the Ryker, or some other BRP product. A former employer/dealer in another town sells BRP products, perhaps he knows. FINALLY done with all the heavy-duty mechanical stuff. Will re-install all the electrical...

Need to know how to use the 529036476 Spacer to set my Ryker's SAS to zero?

I’m a little dense, so I’m still trying to get my head fully wrapped around this procedure. In the attached picture, I have the “official” BRP alignment screw (as noted in a similar illustration several times previously) inserted through a hole in a piece on the side of the steering column...

Need to know how to use the 529036476 Spacer to set my Ryker's SAS to zero?

That's exactly what I was looking for. Some of the original pictures looked like the spacer was folded over one of the steering arms. When I received it, no folded over section; just a small hole on one end and a long slotted section. I assume the 6mm screw must pass through that slotted section...

Need to know how to use the 529036476 Spacer to set my Ryker's SAS to zero?

Appreciate it, but seriously? I've seen that picture a dozen times and it doesn't tell me squat about what locks what to what or how to really use the tool.

Need to know how to use the 529036476 Spacer to set my Ryker's SAS to zero?

Not there yet, but can someone please enlighten me on how to use the above spacer when setting up the steering to zero out the SAS. BRP's supposed link to the instructions are a crock and send you nowhere. TIA

    Ryker turning left Issues

They are, but slowly; life keeps getting in the way. I haven't received any feedback on installing the sleeve, since it can go on two ways, so I can only assume it doesn't make any difference. I built the Arm's new bearing/spacer stack up the other day, so it's ready to go. Have to go out of...

    Ryker turning left Issues

Asinine engineering... and that’s all I have to say about that. With that out of my system, I got started on the steering update install Monday morning and managed to get the machine stripped down to the point where it was time to disconnect the RH side steering link from the Pitman arm where...

    Ryker turning left Issues

I was wondering about that and was going to make sure to take note. A lot going on right now, so I will probably take a couple of days to get through it. Curious tho', did ya'll actually remove the radiator, or just move it as the instructions indicated? Also, did the kit correct your LH turn...

Showtime! My BUDS2 and Steering Update Kit just arrived. Gonna be a thrash so I can get this thing fixed in time for me to ride it to WV in a few weeks. HOPEFULLY, the SAS will be okay.
