• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What do you do for Gas Splash on plastics?? New bike - damaged paint!

To me it looks like a chemical reaction took place between the gasoline and whatever treatment products might have been applied to that plastic prior to the spill.

2024 Dash Display suddenly changing &/or freezing - anyone else? Any fixes?

A failing battery can create a whole bunch of one’s and zeros into a digital signal path like the cluster and create weird problems. Cycling the key off and then restarting seems to temporarily stop this phenomenon but you might really need a better battery to be installed. I had a somewhat...

Does your Saddlebag need to be slammed to latch?

That to me sounds like your latch mechanism needs a clean and lube like I did to mine. The way they designed it just doesn’t have any protection.

Is Running Diesel Oil in Your Spyder such a good idea?

When Lake Speed does an engine oil test comparison on a new Can Am SPYDER engine I will take note. Until then, in my use and limited experience of a few years ownership I haven’t had or noticed any operating changes using Shell Rotella T-6 in both of my RTL’s. I do change it regularly, which is...

Does your Saddlebag need to be slammed to latch?

I had this problem on my 2021 RTL. The right cable adjustment didn’t work because the steel wire core was rusted and broke. They came out with stainless steel cables to replace them with. I purchased and replaced both the left and right cables. I have an automotive repair background, so taking...

How Long did BRP take to contact you after your Spyder purchase, if at all??

Are all your other vehicles cars and/or light duty trucks? I can’t imagine a manufacturer other than those who would make a call, send a letter, or a card to the buyer.

Curious if others have had battery issues with newer OEM Batteries?

These powersports batteries have no reputation for being as long lasting as an automotive battery. They are more inline with the durability of a typical garden tractor battery. You can expect a couple of seasons with good care on average but will probably need replacement by year three.

Any ideas on what might cause this abrupt loss of power?

Time for a new battery is my best guess. I had what sounds like the same thing happen to me last month on my ‘21 and it only had occurred once. I pulled off the road, shut down the engine then restarted and all was well again. I will be purchasing a new battery in the springtime to be ready to...

2021 RTL going back for another warranty fix

For what these dealers charge their service department managers desks should be piled high with new technician applications. Unfortunately, that’s not the case.

2021 RTL going back for another warranty fix

I wonder if the bureaucracy of BRP is making dealerships paranoid of warranty issues and not getting paid to put replacement parts on these vehicles to actually fix things. I’m only saying this because I had a seat lift spring replaced under warranty due to weakness and here I am just a couple...

Any chart/pics to show where Oil change O rings need to go?

The very first time I changed my oil and filter on my 2021 Spyder I noticed one of the original oil drain plugs o-rings was split into two. I was glad to have purchased the o-ring kits along with my filters from Ron. I have never seen an o-ring in my long career with this defect. It certainly...

What's best for Cold weather winter storage? Fuel additive? Battery care? Rodents?

A wash, a full tank of gas, my NOCO and a full cover while parked I’m my garage. I don’t believe in fuel stabilizer products of having any effect until I see them provide evidence of proof of concept using their formulation.

Brake pad rubbing noise - what is the correct way to fix this?

I’m not a fan of anti-seize being used as a lubricant on brake parts. Its use is for threaded fasteners. I have little use for this product in general because it’s absolutely sloppy to work with, it also changes dry torque measurements which can lead to over tightening. The only grease I do...

Brake pad rubbing noise - what is the correct way to fix this?

With the caliper removed you want to clean any and all points of contact with the brake pad. The idea is to keep the brake pad from sticking on the mounting boss. The pad needs to be able to slide freely. I see a lot of rust and debris building up on cars and trucks but very little on a...

Brake pad rubbing noise - what is the correct way to fix this?

It’s common for fasteners to require more torque to remove than to secure. I’m sure even if you tightened it up extremely tight that you are still somewhere around the proper torque, as the bolt isn’t going to stretch. Any of the factory installed locative remaining on the thread should be more...
