• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What power outlet & fuse do you use for heated clothing?

Use the DIN/Hella/BMW/John Deere socket and connector. https://www.ebay.com/itm/256012941672?var=0&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338590836&toolid=10044&customid=5a27f99a-4729-46d9-92a9-553fd0f70680 It latches in solidly, unlike 'cigarette lighter' plugs, and, more...

Going to be in Billings, MT 8/12 - 8/15, 2024 - have Megatech, anyone have DESS concerns?

I'm going to be in Billings from 8/12 - 8/15 at the Billings Hotel and Convention Center for WESTOC 28 (rode an ST1100 for 26 years). I still have my laptop with the Megatech (1) license on it. I disabled one DESS at the Deadwood Rally, and I'm repeating the offer. Contact me here.

Found Engine Serial # on 2013 ST, but CHP does not agree! Any advice?

I can see the mechanics's skepticism. Raised characters would require a change to the mold for each part. I've only seen raised numbers as a mold ID or part number. Contact BRP Support to find a different location to look. Even if that is the real number, they're going to have to be involved...

    Heading to Deadwood, have Megatech

Not offended. Here at the Travelodge, gonna enjoy myself. Planning Devil's Tower ride, otherwise, I'm winging it.

    Heading to Deadwood, have Megatech

Yes. I only bought the BUDS Megatech (not BUDS2) license, which is what I needed for my 14 RT. I'm not that altruistic. :)

    Heading to Deadwood, have Megatech

I'm leaving tomorrow for the three-wheel rally in Deadwood and I'm going to bring my laptop that has the BUDS(1) Megatech license on it. Anyone with 14-16 Spyder that wants their DESS disabled there can contact me. I'll be checking in here after I get to my hotel, and irregularly thereafter...

Anyone else going to the Deadwood 3 Wheeler Rally this year?

Registered, got my hotel reservation at the Travelodge. I broke down, got the Megatech license, and I can relax. I'm going to bring my laptop with the BUDS Megatech on it. Anyone who wants to disable DESS on a 2014-2017 Spyder, contact me there.

Reservations made for next year's Deadwood Three Wheel Rally!

Thinking about attending (depends on how well my new knee is doing) but have a question: Six days seems a bit long. Can we show up, say, Tuesday afternoon and depart Friday?

Choosing between Spyder or Tri-Glide? Drawbacks for either?

I have no experience with Harleys, 2 or 3 wheels (my first bike was an Indian, though, so make allowances for prejudice 😉 ), but I will speak to engineering. Any 3 wheeler, single front, two front or a sidecar rig, is inherently unstable when turning. Note how all trike ATVs are no longer sold...

Has anyone installed modulator head lights?

This subject has been beaten to death on other MC forums (fora? 60+ years since my last Latin class). _---------------------- Federal law supersedes all state laws and makes motorcycle headlight modulators legal in all 50 states. FMVSS 108 (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards)...

Top 5 Best & Brightest LED Headlight Bulbs in 2023 - GTR Lighting, Morimoto, SV-4,

One important spec is left out- color temp of the light. Unfortunately, as we've watched the progression of headlights from open to sealed bulbs to halogen to HID we then equate bluer=better, which is why you see idiots out there with blue gels over their halogen bulbs. 6500K is brighter on some...

    Tire Pressure Observation

That's sort of the point I was trying to make, thanks. You have a better explanation. Rather than me trying to add anything, I'll just recommend Duck Duck Go'ing ( I think Google is a privacy nightmare, and use it only when I have to) the phrase "accuracy vs resolution". Not a trivial subject -...

    Tire Pressure Observation

A point I haven't seen mentioned: Acuracy of the Gauge. I have 4 different tire pressure gauges: a M Accu Gauge dial, a Joe's Racing Products dial, an Accutire Digital, and a Jaco Tire Inflator with a digital readout. None of them match. As a matter of fact, there is a 4 PSI difference in...

Adding 12V Power Port (cig lighter style) to 2022 RTL dash area & rear trunk.

Standard lighter socket are not suitable for MC use. Agree. If you want to add a socket for a "cigarette lighter" type plug that will be exposed to weather, use the Powerlet/BMW/Hella/John Deere plug and socket. 1) Like the "weatherproof" standard lighter socket, it comes with a plug to block...

To kill or not to kill (switch), that is the question

There's a reason on 2 wheels - riding with a pillion. I always put both feet down at stops, which means I'm holding the bike with the front brake. Left hand is holding in the clutch. No prehensile nose to grab the ignition switch. Right thumb to the kill switch.

To kill or not to kill (switch), that is the question

As someone who did this stuff for a living, all I can say is "it depends"... BUT... the CamAm engineers would have to be incompetent for it to be a problem. Sure, it can fail, but I can win the lottery, too. The odds are the same order of magnitude. Switch contact design is really old tech...

Stuck in 1st gear & won't start - any ideas?

Irrelevant to your issue, but for everyone else... Check the kill switch. I had this problem and it took me better than 15 min - finally RTFM and found reference to it in the "troubleshooting" section. The reason it took so long is that the spyder is different that most bikes. On every other...

2018 RT Newbie Question - does this Spyder have CanBus electricals?

PSA Banggood offers a discount if you order through their app. Be aware that: A) To order _from_ the app, you must install the app on your smartphone. B) Any app on your phone _will_ report back to its source. C) What it reports is a function of its code (intention), the ability of the OS to...

13/16 spark plug socket for lugs?

Great info. Thanks to all. But... CURSED be anyone using an impact to tighten ANY vehicle wheel bolts/nuts. I have many tales about sitting alongside the road or trail using unseemly language to describe the person and lineage of the tire ape that decided that a 3/4 drive impact was the correct...
