• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Has this Clutch Late Lockup always been there???

I believe that what is being asked is the slow engagement of the clutch when pulling out from a dead stop. When you twist the throttle the clutch does take a second or two to fully engage. But it doesn't seem to be a case of the clutch actually slipping but just the way it engages. I believe...

The Auto Downshift is irritating for changes to 2nd & 1st - can anything be done to block those down-shifts?

I wasn't aware of this so thanks Peter. I have just recently been trying this and won't be doing it any more.

The Auto Downshift is irritating for changes to 2nd & 1st - can anything be done to block those down-shifts?

I think I found the answer. I am someone who downshifts when slowing for a corner or other reasons. From my two wheel days I never like downshifting in the middle of a corner so I beat Can-Am to the punch by already being in the proper gear to accelerate out of a corner. When coming to a...

Anyone with a new a/mkt shock Extended the self-leveling arm?

On my 2018 I installed a vredestein rear tire and had occasional rubbing over bad bumps. I removed the factory link and installed this adjustable turnbuckle. One side is right hand threads and the other is left hand. The one heim joint is missing from picture. I could loosen lock nuts and...

Latest BRP Safety Bulletins for Shaft Replacement (2019-12) and Shaft & Sprocket Replacement (2019-13) Recalls - Jan 2025

Well I'm surprised how quick Can-Am is moving on this. I received the second letter yesterday. I had talk to my dealer 4-6wks ago and they were aware but didn't know much more. I called today to see where they are in the process. They have 10 kits on hand to do the repair. They are currently...

Recall - 2017-2019 RT and F3 Engine Output Shaft Can Break!

I agree Ron. And that's my problem at the same time. I'm trying to sell my 2018. Do I say anything to prospective buyers. Do I wait until the bike is fixed? With knowing how long it took to get replacement drive sprockets in peoples hands this may take a year or two to be resolved. As I...

Recall - 2017-2019 RT and F3 Engine Output Shaft Can Break!

I have a 2018 that is affected. I was not even aware there was a problem. I've been a daily reader of this forum and don't recall any failures.

So, how fast can a spyder go and safely make a sharp right turn at an intersection?

Well I guess I'll take a stab it. First whether you push vs pull has more affect on the rider then the bike. The ergonomics are completely different. Go sit on the bike and imagine going around a right hand corner. If I pull with my right arm it helps me lean into the corner while my left foot...

So, how fast can a spyder go and safely make a sharp right turn at an intersection?

The slow in, fast out is the way most most performance driving was done when we were all young. But people learned that braking late into the corner, known as trail braking is the current rage. It certainly requires more talent especially on a Spyder where the brake pedal may not be positioned...

So, how fast can a spyder go and safely make a sharp right turn at an intersection?

Pretty much what's been said. Pull with inside arm while planting the outside foot and to start, slow in and fast out of the turn. Accelerating through and out of a corner is more confidence inspiring compared to braking late into a corner.

How can EBC Brake pads be better if I can already invoke the ABS?

As I mentioned I may have contaminated the pads with wheel cleaner. I'm just testing the brakes under various conditions. If I hit the brakes hard enough to activate the ABS then how will EBC pads stop any sooner. The ABS is going to kick in anyway. Now the initial bite and modulating the...

How can EBC Brake pads be better if I can already invoke the ABS?

Not trying to be a smart arse. I think I may have contaminated the factory pads with wheel cleaner. Then the thought came to me that if I can make the ABS kick in, they must be ok. That got me to thinking that if the ABS kicks in, then how will EBC pads improve the braking, since I can already...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I picked up a 2020 RT Limited a couple of weeks ago. Loved the 2018 but couldn't resist. So far I've changed the oil, wired the bike for heated gear, phone charging and battery tender and luggage rack. Still need to install 3 piece sway bar and a brake flush.
