• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2026 model year reveal 8-17-25 6:45 PM

That flying motorcycle seems interesting, but having a range of only 62 miles on the road is a deal breaker. I'll use my $575,000 for something else for now. FWIW, I don't see enough improvements for me to justify trading in my 2021 RT for a newer model. Now if the '26 had shaft drive and a...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Did a quick cleaning to get the dust off the plastic parts. With the Dew Point over 70° for the last several days, it just was not much fun riding, even dressed very lightly (I find the coolest possible way to dress is a long sleeved nylon t-shirt that keeps the sun off my skin but allows...

    2026 model year reveal 8-17-25 6:45 PM

My 2021 RT has only 20,000 miles so I am not in the market for a new one for at least another year or two. I like some of the changes that came with the 2025 so I am optimistic that the Can Am engineers will keep looking for ways to improve the bike without making it seem even less of a "real"...

My Spyder is causing family trouble...

One of my sons and his family are visiting with us right now. This morning I took my 11 year old grandson on a 40 mile ride on my Spyder. He loved it, and said it was so much more fun, more comfortable, and felt a lot safer than when on the back of his Dad's Yamaha sport touring bike. He said he...

The Spyder is certainly not a Honda - but the reliability sure would be nice! Still not switching tho!!

I love riding my Spyder, and just came back from a two and a half hour 100 mile ride in perfect weather, and it doesn't get much better than it was today. I filled up the tank (actually was able to put 6.2 gallons in, the most I think I ever did at one time) and pulled into the garage. I went to...

Where are you from? Where do you live?

Rockford in North Central Illinois now, but I grew up in Brooklyn, NY. What is great about where I am: its not Chicago, low cost of living, less than 5 minutes from my home in the NE part of Rockford and I am on quiet country roads and then my favorite route along the Rock River to Dixon, IL.

Just bought my first Spyder! Considering buying a warranty as it sat for 4 years - your thoughts?

Extended warranties are big profit items for the companies selling them. Consumer Reports has recommended for years to NOT buy any extended warranties. But if you do decide that you need the peace of mind even if it is really throwing money away, bargain on the price. It is not a fixed price...

What are your thoughts on any potential reliability/issues of this 16 year old Spyder?

I am very leery about that old a Spyder. And many dealers will not even try to service or repair one that is over 10 years old. If you possibly can I suggest looking for a 2015 or newer, or consider a new Ryker for about the price of a decent used Spyder. As to riding it for the first time...

    I got another New Helmet!

For starters, I never even thought about the color of my ride when looking for a new helmet. I started out 40+ years ago wearing whatever color was available, but after a few years I realized that overall white was the most visible color (red might be more visible during the day, but looks black...

Speedometer accuracy - when I set my Cruise to a certain speed, the speedo doesn't match - any others??

When I use the Waze app, the Spyder seems to be a pretty consistent 1 mph higher than what the Waze tells me I am really doing. But I am not sure what others here are referring to as the indicated cruise control speed. If that speed is indicated on the screen of my 2021 RT I never noticed it. I...

Any feedback or Comments on the complexity of the RTL?

Extended warranties are big profit items for those who sell them. Consumer Reports used to advise against buying any extended warranties on anything (I don't know if they still give that advice) but I have never regretted NOT buying one.

Ever driven your Spyder onto a ferry?

Any ramp that would be steep enough to make a problem for a Spyder would likely be a problem for many cars as well. I haven't had occasion to be on a ferry but I don't think I would even think about it as a problem unless I saw cars being hung up due to the slope of the ramp.

Touring on the Canyon? Just got back from 1600 mile trip - my observations...

I used to make at least one long road trip by motorcycle every year, and especially enjoyed them when I could do it with a friend on two. Sadly, all of my riding buddies have either died or stopped riding, and I no longer seem to enjoy a multi day trip by myself. Even my wife, who used to ride...

Is BRP the only place to buy Tri-axis handlebars? And advice &/or installation tips welcome!

I added inexpensive risers for my 2021 RT from Slingmods. Moved the bars a bit back and up and this made a huge difference for me in riding comfort. I am 5'7" and now can ride for multiple hours without neck, shoulder or back problems.

If you had 4 days to ride in Michigan, what Must See Rides are there/do you recommend?

Another thumbs up for the Whitefish Point Shipwreck Museum. East of Whitefish Point is Tahquamon Falls State Park, well worth a visit. A bit out of the way, but worth doing. Traverse City beaches are great. The water is shallow out to a good distance, so even though Great Lakes water is...

Any feedback or Comments on the complexity of the RTL?

I have a 2021 RT, with 18,000 miles. I had a speed sensor fail, which took the dealer 3 months waiting for the part and I missed an entire Fall riding season. I also had the latch on a side case break and that was more costly to fix than I expected. I don't do any of the maintenance myself, and...

Anyone tried Washing/Cleaning the Pads from inside a helmet?

Wearing a cooling cap (there are various types from mesh to just thin silk or nylon) that you can wear under your helmet helps to keep the pads of the helmet cleaner and less in need of removal and washing. I've had issues sometimes when removing the pads, where I have trouble getting them...

About to pull the trigger on a 2023 or 2025 Spyder RT Dark - what am I really paying for? Any other major considerations on differences?

FWIW, I recently had a 2025 RTL for the day while the dealer was working on my 2021 RT. I like the big screen, the simpler way to engage Reverse, and the back-up camera, but not enough to even consider the amount I would have to pay to get the 2025 plus my 2021 trade-in. I would guess that you...

I want to give a "thumbs up" to my Can Am Dealer

This is a "thumbs up" to Loves Park Motorsports in Roscoe, IL. I bought my RT there in 2021 and have used them for any service that I have needed since buying the bike. The hourly rate of $150 is high, but that would likely be the case anywhere. Recently, I had the RT in for an oil change and a...

My Thoughts on the 2025 RTL

Yesterday I had the chance to ride a 2025 Spyder RTL as a "loaner" while my bike was being worked on. My general opinion is that I like the changes made from what I have with my 2021 RT, but not enough to trade up to a new one at a cost of several thousand dollars at least. The main thing I...
