• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Should I buy new? Or keep the old 2014 RT Spyder?

I also think the verdict is in. I have an 18 RTL. I have a lot of money, pain, and time invested into that bike, and other than some design changes, not to offend any of my fellow Spyder riders, I think most of the issues and shortcomings with these earlier production bikes kind of followed...

Did oil change & checked level properly; NO oil showing on dip stick - any ideas?

Lot of good information on this thread. Make sure when you check it, you screw the dipstick down like it is when you ride. Then check it. As some of the riders here have said, that clean oil is hard to see on the stick. You might try one of those darker blue or darker shop towels. Just...

Had to wear Gloves for Can Am riding course - Do you wear gloves? Why? Or why not?

Always have. The Spyder is SO much safer than a two-wheeler or a dual-wheel-behind trike, but if you were to ever hit the road at speed, you will be glad things are covered as much as possible. I don't get on my bike without them. I have compromised some and do go open finger or whatever that...

Where do you store your Cell phone??

I have a 2018 Spyder RT. I have the power butterfly (what I call it) on my bike that connects to the four bolts of the steering column. I have more than enough power modules to power several accessories, and I run a power cable from that to my iPhone, which sits in a ram mount on the left...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Lew, you will be glad to have that cat gone. It's a lot of weight. I did baffle mine, not the most, and not the least, and I like it. Make sure your doughnut is in good shape. I reused mine without an issue. Bike threw no codes. Sounded throaty, but not too loud or obnoxious. Just take your time...

What Brand or Type of Oil Should I Use in my Ryker??? Must it be safe for wet-clutch?

Personally, I love oil threads... but to a lot of folks point, you can read until you can't see out of one eye and go blind in the other. I am also a what is the best oil, hand wringing, neurotic, worry wart about putting just the right oil in this machine that I detested at first, but now...

2018 Spyder RT Ltd - any ideas on Rear Shock Replacement?

Hello Racoon, Thank you for the link and information. I saw that one. Do you have any experience with this system or type of system on these bikes. I am rather used to the Spyder now, but of course had a hand brake on my two wheelers. Would not think the same rules would apply when using a...

So, how fast can a spyder go and safely make a sharp right turn at an intersection?

This thread gave you a lot of good advice. A couple of things that I might add if I may. You can't beat muscle memory, so as has been mentioned, the more you ride the better. One of the best upgrades you can make on your machine and get rid of that excessive lean on the RT is to put Baja...

Any feedback on aftermarket seats - Ultimate vs Corbin?

I have the Ultimate seat. I do notice that I do not get as tired riding with that seat as I did with the OEM seat. It is a well-made seat and the details, i.e. the stapling etc. is of higher quality. Mine has heat and that is a nice thing to have. There are other differences in how the seat...

2018 Spyder RT Ltd - any ideas on Rear Shock Replacement?

Hello Forum, I have a 2018 Spyder RT Limited. Have about 12K on it and have put on or done quite a few mods to make this machine better and I am looking at replacing the rear shock, which IMHO is inadequate for that machine and not great. Don't want to lose the self-leveling feature that...

Front Sprocket Repair available? Not the 'Interim Fix'!

Thanks for the info all. I missed the call from my dealer at Ride. Will follow-up to see what the deal is. I try to wrench on my own bike when I can, because I too don't trust the dealership folks to do things right. I know its a trust issue, but just have had too many things come back that...

Front Sprocket Repair available? Not the 'Interim Fix'!

Good Evening Everyone, I was talking to Ride Sports NW, where I bought my Spyder. Service Department informed me that they had the new front sprockets out as the replacements for the recall notice. These are supposed to be "the fix" not the interim fix that they were doing previously. I have...

Got Pedal Commander? Any Gas milage loss? Any Extra wear & tear?

I put mine on two years ago. I love it almost as much as Ron's sway bar. I have not put it on sport plus, but I have heard its pretty crazy in that range, I put it in sport and worked my way up through the ranges until I could keep up with the guys I ride with, 2 Harleys, and Indian and a GW...

Does this mean my parking brake motor is toast? - Sorted!

Hey GKamer. I have the same bike and year. I turned the key, hit all the right buttons to start it, but did not, it was in neutral, so I can push it back out of the garage to start it so it can warm up outside with gassing me or the family. I can usually roll it out and stop it before I hit...

Tires.... discussing tread types & patterns.

All, wanted to say thanks again for the all the comments generated by this thread. Learned and learning A LOT. I wanted to let you know that I originally purchased a tire from Tire Rack off the web. It was the General Altimax RT45. I ordered in the 225 60 15 size and I think it would have...

Tires.... discussing tread types & patterns.

Hey Ron, thank you for the feedback. I liked the tread pattern and looks and the reviews of many of the premiere "summer tires" for the Spyder. I have spent MANY hours reading up on tires this past year and you are spot on with your assessment and comments and the are supported from a wide...

Tires.... discussing tread types & patterns.

The blinders come off the more we discuss this topic, which I for one greatly appreciate. The older I get the, more value I get from listening to others perspective and experience. As well, the more I understand about variables, cause and effect and so how things are very intertwined relating...
