• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ready for Spring, fellow Maine spyder riders?

Mine is out but currently torn apart for a 20k mile valve check and a new oil sensor. Hopefully I'll get it buttoned back up on Sunday. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oil Pressure Light on Startup Sometimes

Thanks guys, I ordered the pressure switch since it was only $10. I have to get the bike to the dealer to have recall work done so I'll have them hook it up to BUDS and check the software as well. Right now I've got it torn down in the drive way replacing Y-pipe gaskets and checking my valve...

Oil Pressure Light on Startup Sometimes

Sometimes the oil pressure light will stay on after I start my Spyder. If I shut it off and restart it the light will go out. Any thoughts? I have a 2009 SM5 with around 19,000 miles. Oil is full and it happens before and after an oil change. It's been happening for the past year or so. Thanks!

    Had the DPS update...

Mine was really bad like that until I did the front end alignment. Now it handles the best it ever has. Maybe something to look into.

Bret BRP messed up my Spyder!!

Mine runs more bars after getting the cluster update, I think they just changed the ratio of bars to degrees. Bike doesn't run any different. That is, I never saw five bars except on hot summer days or in traffic. Now five bars is the norm.

    Lost Key

Well, good news is I found my lost key under a pile of crap in my office! I guess after reading the cost and experiences here I'll be sure to keep a much closer watch on my Spyder keys. Thanks all!

    Lost Key

Has anyone had a spare key made for the Spyder? Know what I should expect to pay? I've called my dealer and they are looking into it, they haven't had anyone else request a key for the Spyder yet. I still have one, so I can still ride, but I lost my second one.

    recall - plus

If you are still in the warranty period this needs to be covered. You need to call and talk to Carlo on this one.

    brake foot

Like the others I keep my foot pointed out just to the right of the brake. It's a quick move back to the brake if I need it. Like in a car, you don't keep your foot over the brake (at least I don't), you move from the accelerator to the brake when it's needed (that's what is taught in drivers ed...

DPS recall, anyone else had it done yet?

My dealer said he only gets one unit at a time and he has 30 of us to work through. He said at this point some of us won't get the new unit until next year because once his snowmobile service picks up he will put the Spyders on the back burner since we'll be putting them in storage anyway. I...

    In shop for new DPS

Can they legally hold your vehicle hostage? In the letter to the owners BRP doesn't advise the vehicle not be driven, only that you should be aware of the potential issues.

    DPS Replacement- Letter to Owners

Basically if you have a Spyder built before Aug 19, 2010 it is effected. RT and RS.

The Elephant Has Left The Building!

I agree, I'm not going to be in a huge rush. Actually, I expect my dealer will call me to schedule the work as they did with the first recall.

R.I.P. Spyder 2683 up in flames

I know you said you had the canister replaced, but did you also have the new vent hose installed? I used to smell gas on hot days before I had mine done, but after the new vent was put on I haven't smelled gas since.

Time to Change the Rear Tire

I have this tire, but not pics of it right now, I can snap one later and post it. I'm not seeing much better tread life, but a bit better. I replaced my stocker with around 7500 miles, I'm almost at 12000 now and I'm guessing I might get another 3000 out of it. To be fair I have done a few...

    DPS recall?

My riding season will be done mid-November, but I'll be one of the last ones on the road and I'll have to wear my snowmobile gear, especially on the way to work in the morning. It's all good though, as fun as the Spyder is, it's nothing compared to the snowmobiles.

    DPS Recall in PDF form

I'm really hopeful this will put this issue to rest. I've actually had a couple of instances with mine that made me question whether or not I had a DPS issue. Both times I was taking a right hander and when I wanted to straighten up the bike seemed to want to stay turned to the right. Nothing...

    DPS recall?

Looks like letters start going out after the 15th. Hopefully I can get mine in before the end of riding season so I can be all ready to roll come Spring.

    VSS Fault/ Check DPS

If yours has come back multiple times I'd definitely get it checked. As for mine, it hasn't happened again so I'm just gonna let it slide. My only recurring issue is a "Brake Failure" message going down hill, I think it's just low fluid, though.

    Speedometer troubles.....anyone?

I find mine reads faster than I'm actually going. The other day one of those road side "you are going this fast" signs had me at 74 and I had 78 on the speedo.
