• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Does UHaul rent a trailer to tow a Spyder?

Does UHaul rent a trailer that can be used to load and tow a Spyder a couple hundred miles? Doesn't matter it is in open or enclosed.

Spyder ST 2013 Radio - do I have one?

A Cardo or Sena unit with speakers added to your helmet will cost you about $120. Paired to your phone, you will get an FM tuner (Cardo has this option through the app, not sure about Sena) and ability to play your music or stream music through the SiriusXM, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Pandora...

    Radiator fans not coming on

Final (I think) update: -Bought the service manual online. Very helpful. Went through the procedures to test the relay, coolant temp sensor, and fan itself. -Relay ... used my 2 amp battery charger to power it ... it works. Resistance and continuity fine. -Coolant temp sensor ...

    Radiator fans not coming on

Update: I checked the fuse (pink 30 amp in the left side box) with a multimeter. All good. Question: is there a relay that controls the cooling fans somewhere? Or just the fuse? I know the older Spyders had relays, not sure about my '15.

998cc Misfire on 2015 STS - need new plug wires? Ideas?

I will do that. I run 90-93 octane in it and average speed on the trip odometers is always 40-45 mph. I run a majority of time at 60+ mph / 4400+ rpm. I shift between 3500-5000 most of the time (manual shift).

    Radiator fans not coming on

After several years of trouble free operation, I have my second issue in two weeks. I noticed my temp gauge spiking while stuck in traffic idling today. Check engine came on seconds later, along with a limp mode warning. Shut it off till traffic started moving. Once rolling, the temp gauge...

998cc Misfire on 2015 STS - need new plug wires? Ideas?

Thanks. How would I tell if it is detonation in the exhaust vs a misfire? Based on my experience, it feels like a misfire - applying throttle, it get a quick jerk through the drivetrain when it allegedly misfires.

998cc Misfire on 2015 STS - need new plug wires? Ideas?

Hi everyone, I have noticed an occasional misfire on my '15 STS SM5, just shy of 13k miles. Typically, it happens after decelerating, then re-applying throttle, such as slowing down for a turn, then accelerating up to speed. Today, it did it once while downshifting for a turn. It will...

Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

Update: brought it to the dealer, they pressure tested it and found a small leak from one of the clamps around the water pump. Replaced the clamp with a new one, pressure tested it again, all is good!

Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

Update: I cannot tell exactly where the coolant leak is coming from. I notice a tiny amount of orange fluid in the groove below the bottom water pump bolt (see #1 in pic), but nothing fresh running down the side, no drips. Looks like some of the hose clamps have been replaced with screw-type...

Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

Not updates yet. I have been working on other projects. I will remove the screws on the right side and take a peak inside next weekend. Hopefully it is just a clamp. Thanks for checking in!

Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

Just took a peek, and it is still dripping on the splash guard underneath, then dripping on the floor. Looks like it is coming from or near the right (brake) side radiator. Will pull side panel tomorrow for closer inspection. I will check the clamps too. I am still under BEST warranty until...

Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

There is a drain hose hanging down, like a car's air conditioning condensation drain hose, close to where the coolant is dripping from. I just happened to notice this, but I doubt it is where the coolant is coming from.

Orange fluid on garage floor - coolant?

I was moving stuff around in the garage today, including the Spyder. Underneath I found orange fluid, enough to run towards the garage floor drain. I would guess about one cup. I am assuming this is coolant, though it doesn't appear to have an odor. What else could it be? If it is coolant, I...

I was on a very "twistie road " ..when this happened

I rode US 33 West through WV this summer on my Wing. I was really surprised at how fast cars ... even trucks ... go through those curves. No waiting for most of those folks. I am guessing they are just used to driving in turns like that?

    Self-adjusting belt?

Thanks to everyone who replied. I checked the belt a few times today on a ride and it was right where it’s supposed to be. When I got home, it was hugging the flange. Then it occurred to me what is probably happening. I back up about 25 feet to get into my garage. After reading JayBros reply, I...

    Self-adjusting belt?

I recently re-installed my rear wheel after getting a new tire mounted. I noticed that the belt was pretty close to the sprocket flange but not touching it (less than 1mm). I had a plan to loosen to axle and reposition the belt on the center of the sprocket this weekend. I took a 100 mile ride...

    Wheel/tire re-installation ... follow up questions

I am inclined to agree with you on torquing the nut rather than the bolt. I just bought a 36mm wrench and socket to do so. As for dropping the muffler to clear access to the nut, I have not looked yet. Others have noted it is easy. As for tiny adjustments, I am referring to the brake side...
