• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Is Belt Dressing Worthwhile

Ric, Ha! Idaho, Yes it’s a ‘20 RT Limited. Thanks for the vid. It appears there is some value (I’ll keep the tube).

    Is Belt Dressing Worthwhile

Hi All! Harley sells a dressing for their belt drives. It came in a tube and I used it on my old Ultra, which seemed to help (better cruise speed, possibly better shifting, etc.). So, would/is this beneficial for a ‘20 RTL regarding noise or life expectancy?

2020 RTL: Does “Eco” mode actually work

Ed, Thanx! Your comment on air movement seems quite relevant as I’ve noticed the RT seems to react to wind, not sure if it’s headwind more so than cross wise? But it seems to being pushing a lot of wind. But my experience with two Luxo tourers (Ultra HD and ‘12 GW), the spyders’ wind management...

2020 RTL: Does “Eco” mode actually work

The concern for mileage isn’t for mileage per se, it’s for more range as mentioned by Pooch above. Well I found the miles to empty feature and I got it to reflect 250 miles last weekend! This was by virtue of riding up local Canyon Lake at the baton-death-march speeds averaging 25-35 for about...

Do you Push or Pull thru turns?

I have discovered the dynamics are opposite of the single-track motorcycle; where you use a “push right to go right” on the motorcycle (aka countersteer) is replaced with “push right to go left.” Further to my delight, I use my “inside” leg (ie if going in right turn brace with right thigh) to...

2020 RTL: Does “Eco” mode actually work

Wow, useless or 1 mpg. I’ll know for sure after a trip planned in April. But until then, maybe I’ll bite the bullet and see if a tankful does anything other than getting my doors blown off by Prius ‘ (Prius?) and the like.

2020 RTL: Does “Eco” mode actually work

Hi All! I can’t find the discipline to drive an entire tank in “Eco” mode ‘cause it feels like someone pulled one of the plug wires. Perhaps if I knew it could actually get another 25-30 miles of range I’d have necessary motivation. Or does it primarily work in city driving and not so much at...

    Miles/Gallon on the 2020 RTL

My first tank got 28 mpg , 2 up freeway miles. I don’t know how I could ride one out here at less than 70. Second tank with cruise set at 73 got 32 mpg. Then next tank 29... current tank looking slightly better. Top speed so far: 95 2-up for short blast and it was straight and stable. I broke in...

    Handle bar sizing - I-fit

Joe, Thank you! I have a ‘20 RTL so am assuming wire slack is not a problem?

    Next Gen Spyder Drvetrain

I think any drive train change that would up the mileage to 35 or 38 mpg (US gallons) would get my vote. The rear tire life is long enough, I feel a belt is ok even though a shaft is superior (which probably would hurt mileage though). And a 6-cyl Honda engine probably would get worse mileage...

    Handle bar sizing - I-fit

Hi all, So if I want a closer bar position, it’s the “short reach” bar? And how much $$ and is that easy for a semi/not-so-much mechanic abilities person to do? Thanx!

Renting a Spyder or two in Phoenix

Maxo, I rented a blue RT there just over a year ago. Nice folks. Becareful though- based on that I just bought a new ‘20 RTL!

    New RTL-a keeper

Spyder insider, Yes Yarnell is fun and now quite accessible with my recent move to Sun City West! And sure, thanks for ride offer! Yes miles of smiles. Planing return trip to Cambria, CA in near future. Yayyy!

    New RTL-a keeper

Hi All! Took spyder to supermarket for diet cokes. RT swallowed three 12-pack (cans) with room for more. Took daughter on ride including blast down interstate: she loved it. And went on 140-mile round trip ride to nearby mile-high Yarnell with my wife: and she Loved It! Woohoo! So, at this point...

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Ex Winger, Thanks for input. I returned to dealer this morning and approached them with the idea that they (the dealer) did nothing wrong in setup but that BRP should cover their error in assembly. Short story: Service Mgr agreed to credit me 2 hours for any future labor/repairs. Thanx again for...

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Hi All! Just picked up RT (second time). “Official” word why RT wouldn’t start last weekend: “Found that nut for positive cable on starter was loose as well as the secondary post for additional ground.” Apparently, there were two loose connections. Woohoo it starts!! Part of the puzzle was the...

    Helmet Recommendations

Another vote for the Neotech Shoei with the Pinlock insert. One item not mentioned is this has a built-in sun shield visor which is fabulous. Instant shade! Also provides extra layer of wind protection if you’re unfortunately fighting dry eye.

    Got New RT...mystery solved

Wow! Missing coolant& bearings! And I may have met the dealer from Sierra Vista at a bike show: liked him and made me wish he was much closer to me. The dealer and factory rep that happened to be on site last week said setup time is “about 4 hours” because they check/inspect “about 150 items.”...

    Got New RT...mystery solved

MrBill, Ha yea-was hoping for same. As mentioned I’m afraid dealer prep may be in play. The RT arrived the Monday before I took delivery and was initially told it wouldn’t be done until next Tuesday (lack of a qualified tech). Upon my objection dealer said he’d “call in a favor” from another...
