• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    998cc RPMs at idle

Thanks, I do know the 998 is high rev and should never let it get below 4500 when driving. I was just curious if the RPMs bounce around when at idle.

    998cc RPMs at idle

Have a 2013 RT and when I start it, RPMs jump between 1300-1400 continuously. Is that normal? Just replaced spark plugs and wires.

    Spark plug Heat sink paste

Thank you JKM, I did look again in the package and you are right, it is the small pak. Didn't nitice it at first because they were together. But all is good again, and thanks again.

    Spark plug Heat sink paste

Changing plugs in my 2013 RT and shop manual calls for heat sink paste to be put on plug threads. So my local dealer has the paste, $38.99, enough to do 500 plugs. Have searched locally and no one carries it in small amounts. Radio Shack did but they have shut almost all stores. Question, is...

Installed Air Intake from JT's Spyder Store

I know I have read you need to take the whole front off to get the resonator out. What exactly is its function and if you install the JT filter, will it throw codes if you leave it in the bike.

Installed Air Intake from JT's Spyder Store

Hey guys, is it necessary to remove the resonating chamber. If its as much a pain as getting the air box out, why do it. Also why remove the air intake. Seems like that would just bring in cool air to help keep engine temp down.

    998cc Air box removal

Thanks Peter, ended up taking it out the right side. Undid the frame brace along with the 50 connectors and a bevy of all sorts of "things". Even than it was near impossible to get out. I don't know what the engineers were smoking during design, but must have been some heavy stuff. They sure...

    998cc Air box removal

Have a 2013 RT L and changing the plugs. I know it seems everyone takes the air box out the right side, but that requires removing the frame strut on that side. I have the center console out and it looks like their is enough room to remove the box on the left side. Has anyone had luck doing...

Torque settings for the rear rotor, caliper, and axle nut on 2013?

Can someone please tell me the torque settings for the rear rotor, caliper and axle nut. Have a 2013 RT L. I found them for a 16 RS but not sure its the same on mine. Also was said 177 FtLbs for axle nut. Seems way to high. Also the nut on the left side of axle is crimped to the axle. So do you...

998cc Any hints/advice on Air filter replacement on a 2013 RT?

Attempting to replace the air filter and it's turning into a nightmare. Finally found the housing and I could release 2 of the clips, but the clip on the bottom seems impossible to release. Any tricks to this? Worried that if I get it released, I will never be able to reattach it. Does the cover...

    Frunk and seat, won't open

Thanks all. Got the seat open and just going to hold the latch open. The funk is a different story. Got it open but now will not close and latch. The latch will close when I do it manually but when I close it, will not latch.

    Frunk and seat, won't open

Thanks guys. When I turn the key either way, trunk or seat, do not get the same resistance that I did before. Could both cables go at the same time. And any suggestions on getting the key cylinder out to replace cables.

    Frunk and seat, won't open

2013 RT Limited. Neither my frunk or seat will unlatch from the key or the switch on the dash with Park. The key seems to turn different when I push it down and turn to either seat or frunk. Does the key activate a solenoid and if so where would it be located. I've tried everything. TIA

    HowTo: Panel covering instruments

I want to remove the plastic panel that covers the main instruments on my 2013 RT. Looks to be 4 screws. My question is will the panel come out and leave the main cluster in place or is the panel attached to the instruments. TIA
