• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Your Weather News @ December Edition 2025

Here in East Texas the weather is best described as "unsettled". We have sun and 70°F today. Dropping to 28° Sunday night and back to 70° by Wednesday. If a front comes in from Canada, the air is dry and cold; if it comes up from the Gulf, it is wet and warm; in between, it is just foggy!

Having Apple CarPlay problems with iPhone 17 - anyone had success with the 2024/25 dash and an Apple 17? Issue Resolved Woo Hoo

I had errands to do today so I tested my theory about the orientation of the USB C end. I had four stops and connected the cord with the end in regular orientation, reverse orientation, regular, reverse. The fault was consistent and repeatable. If the null hypothesis for my test was that...

Having Apple CarPlay problems with iPhone 17 - anyone had success with the 2024/25 dash and an Apple 17? Issue Resolved Woo Hoo

Well, that is a horse of a different color. What you are saying is exactly what I was thinking (after a little thinking) but I hadn't been able to test that theory yet. I will go ahead and do my little experiment because well - science!

Having Apple CarPlay problems with iPhone 17 - anyone had success with the 2024/25 dash and an Apple 17? Issue Resolved Woo Hoo

I checked my phone and VPN is also not connected. However, I may have resolution and it does not make any sense. I rode over to my dealer today to pick their brains on this issue. I was still using the short cable with a 90 degree USB C connector. ACP reset a half dozen times on my trip across...

Having Apple CarPlay problems with iPhone 17 - anyone had success with the 2024/25 dash and an Apple 17? Issue Resolved Woo Hoo

I am using a 1.5' braided cable that is "supposed" to support high speed data as well as charging and is specifically marketed for ACP. It also has a 90 degree USB C connector which is convenient in the confines of the glovebox. I have also used an Optimate 4 battery maintainer since I drove it...

Having Apple CarPlay problems with iPhone 17 - anyone had success with the 2024/25 dash and an Apple 17? Issue Resolved Woo Hoo

I have been using Apple Carplay with great success on my 2025 Canyon with my iPhone 14. However, last week I took delivery of an iPhone 17 and that is when the problems started. The phone and my headset paired to the Canyon just like the 14 did. I turned on my headset, started the Canyon and...

What is your plan for Replacement batteries for the Canyon?

Maybe I am living in denial but I haven't thought about battery replacement for my Canyon yet. I did add a fused pigtail to the battery the day I bought it (mid April) and have used an Optimate maintainer whenever it is parked at home. To tell you the truth I hadn't even noticed it was only a...

Brrrrr - The last ride of the season in NE Ohio

I'm in East Texas. Our last ride of the season won't be until December 31.

Any recommendations on a Trickle charge set up for a Canyon?

I have been using an Optimate 4 maintainer on my Canyon Standard since I bought it in April. Because the battery is under the seat it was very easy to hook the SAE pigtail lead directly to the battery and route it out under the frame. I used a zip tie to adjust the length so only a couple...

What kind of Canyon Rear Tire Life are you seeing? What Replacement Options are there?

I currently have 5600 miles on my Canyon. My rear tire still has 8/32's of tread depth across all three grooves. That being said, my Ryker Rally, with a similar (aggressive design) rear tire, was down to the rain wear indicators and I replaced it at 6,700 miles.

Oh, I am busted. You are right; it was Hannibal. I need to revisit my history.

    2025 Motorcycle of the Year

Love it or hate it, the Canyon has riders talking about it. Compared to other manufacturers (including Can Am) that make minor changes in color or features from year to year (or none at all), the Canyon is something completely different. When the rest of the world was going into battle with...

What is the recommended Tire pressure for a Canyon?

According to the placard on the frame it is 20 psi front 28 rear. On my Canyon Standard with stock tires I run 20 psi front and 28 psi rear.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I'll post a photo tomorrow, but it is the same skid plate that the XT and Red Rock come with. If you look at the three models on the Can Am web site, the base model has a black lower facia, while the other two have the silver skid plate. Don't take a test ride on the Canyon unless you can resist...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

I added the skid plate to the lower front facia of my Canyon. Its just cosmetic but it looks good there.

Does anyone know (or can measure) their Canyon's rear tire tread depth?

I only got about 8,500 miles on the stock Kenda tire of my Ryker Rally before I switched to car tires. Surprisingly, the first replacement car tire on the Ryker was a Forceum Henna which also wore in the middle by 8,500 miles (even with only 18 psi). The second replacement rear was an Americus...

Does anyone know (or can measure) their Canyon's rear tire tread depth?

Thank you both. This gives me a place to start. I can now monitor wear from here and see how things go as I get more miles prior to my trip. In my case if the tire was 10/32 (0.315) new and has worn to 8/32 (0.250) in 4000 miles a conservative estimate would be another 6,000 miles of wear...

Does anyone know (or can measure) their Canyon's rear tire tread depth?

Does anyone know (or can you measure) what the tread depth is for a new Canyon rear tire? I looked all over the internet and this forum and I have found nothing. My Canyon currently has 4000 miles on it and the tread depth is 8/32 but I don't know what the starting depth was. I want to estimate...
