• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Another one bytes the dust... Front Sprocket Failure - Red Dust!

Per my research on this issue, the problem (fretting) occurs due to movement between the splines of the pulley and the output shaft and concentrated pressure, causing microscopic friction points that temporary weld then fracture, creating the "red dust" phenomenon. The cure: lubricate the...

Rear belt tension - Any way to check without special tool?

I just checked belt tension, using the Krikit gauge and it measured ~150 lbs. Just for fun, I measured the Harley and it too showed ~150 lbs. Interesting they both measured the same belt tension. The Harley was set up using a different tool and slightly different methodology. Much prefer the...

Front pulley bolt - reuse or replace?

The torque spec is 110 ft/lbs - about the same as a lug nut. You replace lug nuts/wheel studs after each use? (Maybe some of you do.) All it does is keep the pulley on the splined shaft; the pulley splines bear the actual torque load. Buy a new one if you want peace of mind. (Replace those wheel...

Front pulley bolt - reuse or replace?

C'mon, get real here. You really believe that nonsense about the bolt providing "sufficient clamping force of the pulley to the shoulder of the shaft so that the splines do not transmit the load." By your logic, splines would be superfluous if the bolt were torqued to, say 160 ft/lbs. That...

Any advice on removing the Front Sprocket bolt?

Not a problem - I don't feel picked on. The clutch will slip before the gears suffer any damage.

Any advice on removing the Front Sprocket bolt?

Chill. The bolt will loosen way before any damage can be inflicted.

Any advice on removing the Front Sprocket bolt?

Find a way to secure a stout breaker bar to the sprocket bolt. Start the machine. Put it in reverse. Gently apply the throttle, using engine power to remove the bolt.

Anyone using Tire Beads? How much?

2 oz in the fronts and 4oz in the rear makes for a smooth ride. Same smoothness as the OEM Kenda's with conventional wheel weights.

F3 sprocket question - which lube/paste is best when re-fitting?

You're merely parroting the dealer's BS. Which spline did they have to cut in half? One on the shaft or the pulley? I suppose your dealer has the ability to perform a molecular analysis of the offending Loctite moly 'paste', comparing it to the Kluberpaste, in order to void your warranty...
