• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    floorboards

Frank, I have to agree with you. I’ve got the Seal Floorboards on my 2012 RT and I love ‘em. It is nice to be able to move your feet in different positions while riding. Any floorboard is better than just standard foot pegs. I can’t be the only one that feels this way. Or, the motorcycle gods...

    998cc bent frame

I hope you are okay. Bending the frame on a Spyder sounds like it would at least hurt. I’m glad you found a frame for it.

    helmet communcators

I had the plug in type intercom on my Goldwing. The Sena SMH10R’s are very good. You can buy them in a dual set. The only drawback for me is you DO have to charge the Sena’s as they’re wireless. But they last quite a while between charges. So, we’re happy with them.

Please allow me to introduce myself................( long post)

Your story is a very familiar one in Spyderland. I’m a former Goldwing man myself. Though a Spyder is no Goldwing at least we’re still able to ride. Welcome to Spyderlovers.com my friend. Enjoy.

    Tech question harness question

I have a plug and play isolated harness for a 2010 - 2017 RT to a 4 pin trailer. My trailer is a 5 pin hookup so I had to buy a different harness. PM me if you are interested. My new 5 pin was $80, I’ll sell this for 4 pin for $50 as I have no use for it. *********SOLD**********

    External Battery Jump Port

Although I bought my 2012 RT used, but, very well maintained. I have a separate hook up to jump start it under the seat. Am I wrong to assume they all came like this? Without that I can only guess what a PITA it would be to try and jump start a 2012 RT. Even with the hook up like Glorybiz has...

    Do you carry a charger?

Yup. Viking from Harbor Freight, a compressor, a plug kit, an emergency towing card from Markel insurance and a cell phone. I hope I never need any of it.

"Scuffing" noise coming from left wheel

Maybe get your bike up to the speed where the noise is most prominent and hold that speed (12-21 MPH) and slightly step on your brake pedal and see if you still hear the noise. At least you’ll know what the noise is... or isn’t.

    Cover for Spyder RT Limited.....

If I had a garage I wouldn’t cover it at all. Just dust it off occasionally. Either a Battery Tender trickle/float charger is your best bet. It looks like it’s not just my humble opinion. They’re not that expensive and keep your battery in tip top condition. I’ve been using one for years and...

    driver floor boards?

Check into Seal Floorboards. They’re a little pricey at $500 but they look and feel great. Ask John about fitting. He makes them and they’re easy to install. They screw into the existing pegs.
