• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    1330 Performance Upgrades

I've had the MFI flash done to mine as well and I promise you, it's money WELL spent. The increased power is great but for me the biggest improvement is driveability with the improvements made in the lower end of the power band since I do a lot of city driving. Bang for the buck is very high...

    Rotella T6 full synthetic 5-40

If anyone is interested in more than 4 gallons (rebate is for max of 4 jugs), the 2.5 gal jugs are also available at the same price per quart and rebate as the 1 gallon jugs. I've got a diesel truck so go through lots of this, so I got 4 of the 2.5 gallon jugs and ends up being the same price...

    Boot question

I wear Klim Outlander's. They're waterproof and super comfy, they're described as a combination m/c and hiking boot. I've ridden with other, non m/c boots and agree they're more comfortable, but believe that in most cases, m/c specific boots will offer you more protection as they're designed...

    Safety Gear

I've noticed as well that many Spyder riders wear little or no protective gear beyond a helmet (since helmets are required in my state). I also agree that Spyders are more stable and you're less likely to come off, HOWEVER, if/when you do come off it, you're not going to be any better off...

    HID Installation on 2014 RT.

Now here's a necrothread! HID's obselete, LOL, there's a good one! LED's *may*, depending on the specific kit you use, be *slightly* easier to install. If you consider drilling a hole in the rear housings to be too big of a job for you to take on, they LED's have the edge here, some fit...

Air Horn on Spyder RT Ltd.

If it only comes with what's in the picture, you're not getting anything more than comes with the Stebel but are paying more than twice the cost of the Stebel. Basically you'll need the following to get it installed: Air horn Relay Wire, connectors, maybe fuse, to get high current positive...

    High mounted stop light-RT

Nice job clearing up that questionable piece of information by Smoaks. When I watched that video I rolled my eyes so hard you could probably have heard it. There was some misinformation and confusion there. He was creating some FUD right there (fear, uncertainty, and doubt). He's no doubt a...

    BRP BELT TENSIONER

I wonder if the premature failures of the BRP unit may be due to them not being properly aligned with the belt? I could see that causing it to fail quick if it's not parallel to the belt and sideloading it. I've had mine on now, with Doc's brackets, for several hundred miles and it's holding...

to CANbus or not to CANbus

I'd go 6500K if you're looking at the Morimoto bulbs. I like the same type of light as you, mostly white with just a touch of blue, the 6500K worked great for me. I've used 5500K in other conversions and it's more a pure white. Your budget is right on the mark, it'll allow you to get some...

to CANbus or not to CANbus

Not sure what year OP's rig is but I just put HID's in my '14 RT-L. No issues and I'm very happy with the results. I didn't use any warning eliminators. Typically those are used to eliminate errors from systems that send a pulse to determine if a bulb is burnt out or not, Spyder doesn't do...

    Gear Possiblities

I just picked up a Klim Induction jacket not long ago, so here's my opinion of it. Klim gear is expensive, no two ways about it. It's also top of the line and noticeably better quality than most stuff out there. I was previously considering a Joe Rocket and can tell you they're playing in...

    Sorry to go!

Awesome ride! Looks sooo much better than a Slingshot (in all aspects, not just cosmetically) and the price is really reasonable. I might have to look into these as well in the future.

    Spyder Oil Change Schedule

http://www.lamonstergarage.com/lamonster-magic-mirrors-set-of-6-can-am-spyder-rt/ There's also a set of 4. I got the set of 6 and they're worth their weight in gold. Come to think about it, that's about the cost of them too, so I guess it's a fair price! Makes it sooooo easy to take the...

    Skid plate

I just installed one on my RT this past Saturday, really easy job. The other posters have hit the important stuff about getting the frame holes right and not hitting the radiator hoses on the applicable front holes. The instructions were really easy to follow. Basically just pulling off the...

    Radar detector

I've been looking into radar detectors as well. I've found that RAM makes a radar detector mount, easily found online. It uses a metal plate that is stuck onto the detector and then has high power magnets in the mount that attaches the detector to the mount. The nice thing is that it makes it...

Say Hi to the Newest RT Limited owner

Congrats! You're going to love it! Beware of the farkle addiction, it's easy to catch and can be expensive. It's also a lot of fun to take a great machine and make it even a little better and totally worth it :).

    First Service

Agree with the others. Likely you'd be ok, unless you're not. If there was any internal engine component failure, it wouldn't hard to make a good case that it was due to not changing the oil. At worst you'd lose the fight and have to foot the entire repair bill. At best, you'd get it covered...

My first thought of my new 2018 RT Limited

That's unfortunate to hear but I'm not super surprised either. Vehicle infotainment systems are usually way behind the tech curve. Going proprietary never helps either, which they pretty much all do. It also irks me that in the case of cars/trucks, you pay a big premium, a couple thousand in...

How often should we change the brake fluid?

Just my .02. I bought a brake fluid tester that measures the moisture content in the fluid. 3%+ it's time to change. My 15 tested at 1%, I feel comfortable letting it go a while more and then retesting. Of course if you want to be absolutely sure you fluid is good, just change it.

New Bluetooth 5 Helmet Communication products

I agree that we should always be careful with what we say. However I disagree with your assertion that "Bluetooth 5.x will NOT compatible with ANY current BT 4.x device or lower ." That is 100% false. Part of the Bluetooth 5 spec is that it's backwards compatible with v4.0 and up. Feel free...
