• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Kewlmetal Adjustable bars are the bomb

I just fitted a set of Kewlmetal’s adjustable bars and I have to say they are fantastic. There is so much adjustment I think anyone from about 4ft tall to 7ft tall could find a position that they find comfortable. I am 5’ 6” and I can now sit completely upright in a very relaxed position and...

    best motorcycle song..

What a fantastic thread, with all the doom and gloom around this this thread just makes you smile and feel good I agree with Tom, some early shots look like the Painted Desert or even the road down to Moab but the later stuff is definitely Monument Valley, I’ve ridden it a bunch of times and its...

    Garmin Zumo 550 vs 660

I hooked my GPS up to the trunk accessory outlet wires, that way it powers off 30 seconds after you turn the Spider off.

    Houston, San Antonio, Austin Meet/Eat

I'm in Austin and I plan to be there. I am having minor back surgery this week so I hope be healed up enough by then, if not i may still be able to make it in the car but, being new to Texas, I am very interested in getting together with other Spyder owners for some local rides.

    Electric Trunk Release!

Thanks for the info I was wondering where I could get all this stuff. I went on to efunctional.com to order it but the shipping was $12 so I searched on Power Trunk-Release Kit and found the same kit at Sears on line with more reasonable shipping.

Okay, is it me or the Spyder?

The shift should be pretty smooth, certainly smoother than your Harley. First gear is always a bit clunky on anything but from there on up it should be smooth. If you've riden Harleys and the Nomad for a while then i doubt the problem is you - I would take it to the dealer and have them check it...

What color do you see in this graphic?

The image displayed is a grayscale image, meaning there are no colors as such, just shades of grey. Really dont understand the "my neighbor has to see it secrecy" but if you see any other colors then its your monitor not the image.

    Spyder stopped while riding

Yes, although it was not a complete shutdown, it went into limp mode doing 65mph on the highway My dealer said it was due to the GPS sensor and that there is going to be a recall to fix it. You just have to pull over and switch off for a couple of minutes to let the sensor fully discharge...

    Need advice on DPS please.

I would recommend you do let them change out the sensor as it causes other problems – my dealer is waiting for the recall to be able to change mine but it caused my Spyder to suddenly go into limp mode while doing 65mph on the highway. It’s not too big of a deal as you just have to pull over and...

    Kewlmetal Highway Footpeg Mounting Brackets

Just got done fitting the Kewlmetal Highway Footpeg Mounting Brackets and I am very happy with them. :clap:Service was great when I ordered them and they arrived when they said they would. Fitting was easy, in fact it was easier than the instructions made it sound. These are VERY solid mounts...

    Long Ride Preparation?

I am going on a 3,000 mile, weeklong tour in a few weeks and wondered what additional tools/ spares you experienced Spyder touring riders would take with you on a ride like that.

    Receiving GPS Instructions

I have not mounted my GPS on my Spyder yet but I have used it for over 10,000 miles of touring on other bikes. Mine has a pretty small screen (2 inch) and it’s not a problem, a bigger screen would definitely make it easier but I bought mine a few years ago and there weren’t any larger ones...

Well, I finally did it – I bought a Spyder

After lurking on this site and others and doing lots of research I finally pulled the trigger and bought a Spyder. It’s a red SM5 and I got it from Central Texas Powersports in Georgetown, Texas. They were great to deal with, in fact the test ride they gave me was the deciding factor, they...

    Advice on dealers in Austin

Hi All or should I say Hi all y’all as I have just moved to Austin, Texas. I am getting ready to pull the trigger and buy a Spyder and wondered if anyone can give me some advice on local dealers.
