• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Great price for Spyder luggage!

This just popped up in my e-mails from Motorcycle gear.com and thought I'd share: Although this bag was originally designed for cruiser style motorcycles as pictured here, Can-Am Spyders, V-Stroms and just about any motorcycle with a backrest pad can use the CTB-550! Constructed of Top...

Upgrading from a 2008 for 2012, some questions about price

Last week I decided to trade my 2008 GS (manual trans.) stock unit in on a 2013 Triumph Street Triple R and my dealer (who does not normally sell Spyders, so doesn't have a clue what market he may have) offered $11,000 trade in - just out of Blue Book, I think. I was happy and he was happy. I...

Lake Michigan Circle Tour. Anybody out there done it?

You don't say what time of year that will be but we did the trip a few years ago. When we left Southern Illinois it was in high 90's. We were at Thunder Bay at first of July and temps were in the high 30's/low 40's so be sure to pack for temperature extremes.

    Traveling advice

I always pack a small (pocket size) spiral notebook. Every evening when I check into a motel I take a few minutes to write down memorable things - good (or bad) roads/scenery, restaurants, attractions, weather conditions and miles ridden, etc. Whether it's a two or three day trip or a two week...

    Buzz

Thanks - been out riding during the day and fund raising for our local food pantry at nights from my kitchen table/computer so not much "Spyderlovers" time. Merry Christmas!

    Buzz

Hmmm...I've read (I think maybe on this forum in earlier days) and also in other forums and magazines that belt driven cycles tend to have a band of speed that creates a harmonic vibration. Same models can have different bands at different speeds but almost all have it somewhere. I know I get...

    I can't get over it~~

Mama Phoenix - Like the others, I have a tale of broken bones (mine in lower leg - both bones, multiple places) and months of wheel chairs, walkers and canes. That will be three years in February and I guess I'll always have a bit of a limp - but it doesn't keep me from riding. I was...

My day at Cowtown or Jimmy, Mike, and Len rock

I, too, am from Southern Illinois and long ago gave up going anywhere else for service. Now I schedule my service (when I need it - not done too many miles in the last year as last year I had a motorcycle accident and lost the entire riding season a due to broken bones nd this year I've been...

    Spyderfest 2013

If you "google " Cuba, MO you will see that there are several motels that most try to stay at each year. It's getting more and more difficult to book a room in them as the Spyderfest grows each year and many plan well in advance. For this year's (2012 Spyderfest) I believe Super 8 in Cuba...

    Cooling Vest

I've used one for quite a few years when it's really hot. You have to remember the higher the humidity (which is really bad in SO IL), the less effective the evaporative quality. But having said that at close to 100 it still feels pretty darn good when you are moving. I carry a small trash...

i've got a question and it happens to do with birds!

Never on Spyder, but two ducks on two different two-wheeled motorcycles (one was on a Ducati, so that seemed appropriate). Neither hit killed the ducks but the one that hit my handlebar and then rolled up and hit me in the shoulder, left a bruise on my shoulder (with armored gear) and almost...

    Is it worth the trip?

I'd also say on most days it would be worth the ride to meet some great folks (they're the real attraction). They have a beautiful showroom made of logs and a nice niche of Spyder inventory, but you it's the folks, including the service techs, that make the place! I ALWAYS go see them...

This is so not Spyder related!!!

You might also check out the website Nadanu.com. They were featured not too long ago on either 20/20 or 60 minutes (I forget) but I checked them out for our Food Pantry fund raising possibilities and liked what I found. Good luck!

How many Spyder riders still own 2 wheelers?

We still have 8 bikes in the garage but the Triumph Tiger, Ducati Multistrada and Ducati Hypermotard are too tall/heavy for me to ride, especially since I broke my leg last year. I still ride a Triumph Street Triple, a BMW F800ST, a Ducati ST3 (although it's tall and heavy for me and I can only...

how many miles can i go?

Back in 2008 when I got mine, I was up to 850 miles before my first check and nothing at all happened - no alerts, nothing. My dealer had actually advised me it was quite okay to go over with no problems.

    Curiosity question.......

I took the MSC in Illinois - first the basic MANY years ago to get my license for two wheels which I rode during my high school and college years. I actually took that course a second time about 15 years later - somewhere along the way in getting divorced and having my license re-issued I...
